My space framed nova with big power XE and sequential box

i still think you could be runing smaller wheels like 15's

downgrade the brakes a tad so they fit under.

if the car is that light you wont need masive brakes.

and you would save some weight having smaller wheels

and for the height, just put the coilovers up some

Tthe car isnt going to be "that" (probably around the 700kg mark and with 280bhp and dont fancy trusting some of the smaller calipers. .

I dont really fancy buying another set of AP's either. Funds are tight.

all the supertourers, clio cups, seat leons run bigger wheels and dont have any problems.

Also the coilovers wont go up anymore due to being custom made.

I do understand where your coming from but it isnt really an option.

lol. 280bp is high yeh.
700kg. is this just below the nomal weight of a nova?

all the super tourers run bigger wheels, but is yours a supertourer lol.

and im not having a dig at you. the car looks fantastic. but some things i dont understand :)

Constructive critism is good :)

The car may not be much lighter that a standard nova but the chasis is far more upto the job on track.

And yes i know it isnt a super tourer but cant see a huge problem with running a 17" wheel. Plenty of light wheels out there and an abundance of cheap tyres.

Just out of intrest have you had much experiance building race cars etc?

i personally havnt hece why there may be some odd looking things to those who have, its all a learning curve.

there are plenty of racing novas who run standard shells. and seem to cope alright.

lol to your question about my experiance. building them. little. but learning about them. alot. my boss done a degree in motorsport engineering. and we have been working on his race car. and i read alot in general.

lol yeh life is one big learning curve. and i think everyone is always learing. this car could well go onto be a wining car and if so ill eat my words totally.

p.s F1 cars run 13" wheels. :d

Reading is definatley a good way of picking up ideas. Cool whats your boss do? What car he got?

278mm discs with 6 pot calipers arnt really available to the general public :p

and he is my boss, lol he is the technial engineer for medi plinth.
he used to race in the mini metro series. and now he has a fiat X1/9 space frame

and lol to the F1 wheels and brakes etc lol. my point was. they run 13" wheels and your running 17"s if they can fit them under 13" then im sure you can :D lol

X1/9 = old school cool :) would love to see some pics :d

I see the point about the 17's, im just going to have to suck it and see. IIRC i think simps has decided to go for a 17" on his loon.
