Fucked if I know mate!!! I’ll have to have another look when I get home!! It’s been so long since I’ve looked at the car I’ve forgotten!! Haha

Make sure you have the camera on, we all like to see Iain struggling to stay in front! If you could grab the beam that would be great, I’m often at Brands so could grab it off you if that’s ok
So how did Friday go then Mr House?
Seen that there were 3 from team stonky and only 1 ended the day running...
Friday went well until I destroyed 4th coming onto the start finish straight chasing Iain, managed a total of 20 laps!!
It appears my ability to not break gearboxes has run out of talent!!
Never mind, it's kicked my butt into action cos I'm not removing the box on the drive, I'm bored of doing that and I'm getting old and can't be arsed crawling around under a car anymore!!
I'm looking at a unit Monday, as soon as that's confirmed I'll order a ramp and get that installed then get the engine and box out and Iain has an old F20 we're gonna throw in, carry on abusing the car for a bit, toyed with the idea of an SCCR but I've got a little something special planned for the new shell and don't wanna punt £2,500 at this car.
New one is maybe 4-5 weeks from being finished so I'll get that in the unit and start mocking that up and getting it sorted. At present the only things I need out of the current car are the throttle bodies, ECU and brakes but who knows I might get sentimental and keep the current car as a backup stick it on some ATE's or back on the hi-specs and just buy another set of Jenvey bodies. I'd like to keep the current car running aslong as possible, don't want to fall into the trap of having a car in progress and forgetting what it feels like to do track days. We'll see.
Also retiring our VW Caddy from work to become a dedicated track tow van, tools and everything in it permanently cos I'm bored of loading and unloading the Passat. Should mean I can literally turn up to the unit, get in the Caddy and go, no worrying if I've got everything or not!!
That was a bit of a long explanation!!!! Sorry mate!!!
Shame about yesterday, I have got some compbrake 4 pots you can use if you want to keep the old shell going. The unit and Caddy sound like good ideas, it really does my nut having to keep loading and unloading the van prior to an event
In-depth reply, good work! Lol.
Sounds like an awesome plan, shame your so far away, I'd be calling in to borrow them ramps. Lol
Good to hear you were out again Mate. RE the Gearbox if you are ordering from Quaife I would get the order in as soon as possible. I just waited 14 weeks for my new gear kit.
Cant wait to see some progress on the new shell.
Sounds good , they are well used but quite good calipers tbf
Front triangulation done

F18 box sourced and cleaned, quaife SCCR purchased, all going to the Phirm Monday for Tim to build it all up.
Hoping to do Caldwell early July!!
You say sourced... it’s your own box that was sat in my garage! SCCR should be good.
Looking good mate, did you not fancy a dog box?
Any luck with the beam
£4.5k mate!!
Eventual plan is quaife sequential but I don’t have the £8k right at this moment. Well I do but the accountant won’t let me spend it on a quaife gearbox, apparently I have to pay for bums to sit around watching Jeremy Kyle, but I digress.
Yeah plan is sequential in a years time as an upgrade mod.
So get it working using an SCCR then see where we are. It’s not hard to convert it.
All quaife parts and rebuild kit delivered to the Phirm.
Plus my F18 casing, 2 spare old gear clusters and a bunch of syncros from Iain’s back pocket.
Hoping to get down with Tim and get the box built one Friday in a few weeks.
As I’ve not sorted a unit yet I’m gonna use the 3rd ramp at the Phirm to install the new box, easy as you like.
Ready for Cadwell on the 9th of July!!
Loving the progress.
Will you not be abit close to the wheel (your first pic)

Well that got expensive quickly!!!
Nice collection of parts :thumb:
Update.
We did Mallory a few months back. Broke 4th gear in the first session.
Croft coming up in a weeks time, figured we should sort the box out.
Bought a load of quaife internals for an SCCR, didn’t have time to build the box up.
Bought an F20, took the car to headquarters and in 3 hours Iain and I had the box out and the new one in and working.

Also took advantage of the new facilities and Iain stuck some rubber on the new wheels that have been in storage for nearly a year

Bit too wide at the front! However as this is our test bed for things on the new shell, it’s meant we can get Ben to adjust a set of front wings and add a little extension to cover these, we’ll also roll the rears, so the new shell won’t have a problem!!
In order for Mallory to work, Iain dreamt these up

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f6ccc750a4.jpg
And he’s gonna roll the rear arches too!!
All a bit of fun!!
The 5 door wings work very well with wider wheels I use them on my drag car
If you are using 5dr front wings on the new shell House you might as well do the 2dr quarters too.
Round arches are a temporary fix and are 100% not being painted.
Box swap

My weekend consists of getting them to fit.
Fair shout. If you can get them on and not rubbing (even when hot and mid bend) then good job.
Mine are the way they are because there’s a risk of contact. It did actually happen in the last race so I have a dented rear arch but was able to continue.
I’m only running 195’s mate so hoping that’ll help.
Iain put the saloon arches on the front and we think we like it!! Haha so they might stay now!!
I’m loathed to do the rears, Ben has done all the work to the rears with new repair panels and it would be such a shame to undo all that work to saloon the rear too. We’ll see how we get on.
