Mk, James can weld really well, the only to bits that arn't perfect in the pics are down to the leg having stuff on it when i remove the old mount.
Graeme, yeah he does well happy with the mount..

Ridiculously well, I didn't even know it was possible to get welds that flat/thin while still creating a nicely welded fillet, I'm struggling to work out how tbh lol
Me and you both..lol My welding is ok if your grinding it off and that. Not good enough to leave in view.
To blow my own trumpet for a bit I'm actually pretty **** hot considering how long I've been doing it, my lecturer asked where I'd been taught when I asked how I could improve the weld I'd just done after a 10 min 'taster session' kinda thing. I can produce 'pretty' welds about half of the time on simple joints, filling gaps etc I'm pretty bad at (sure you'll see later if you check my project thread! lol) but the kind of welding James produces is just something else, I don't even see that kind of neatness with professional tig welds, any 'pretty weld' I've ever seen has characteristic ripples to it.

and to the welds, we do professional welds at work, and some are not as good as that lol.
a tip one of the welders taught me was to push the torch and not pull. as it holds the weld pool better and the heat etc.
after all the pull welding i have done. pushing it feels so weird and near impossible lol.
There's actually examples of both done by a pro welder on mig-welding.co.uk and the only way to tell the difference is from the dip in the end of the weld.Quote:

Cheers guys, my welding is good enough if its being ground off and sealed over or filled over, but i couldn't leave it as is. I could weld better with the welder at the body shop. But that is a proper one.
James make it look so easy.. and gets a really strong neat weld. Hence why i asked him to do it for me.
Thanks chaps - although vie been to bens befor I still have massive respect for him for doing what he's done/is doing in a very small space.
