Greg is better of keeping the SR trim, find a one piece back bench and getting a proffessional upholster to use the cloth from his split bench. A guy did this down my way and only an anorak (Like Vaughan ;) ) would notice....
Hear hear,At the end of the day theres going to be 2 cracking motors made from one.Who gives a fukk.Where were the "purists" when it was for sale in the 1st place? Too busy chatting sh1t about it on here i bet.Quote:

Good work Greg, if you need the extra brackets for the rear 60/40 seats let me know, I've still got them in my shell and will drill then out for you,
Not wanting to start anything again, but all i can say about all this is i would of liked to of had all the original parts especially when it was almost complete.
Sport are getting thin on the ground and i think they should all be kept as complete as possible even if they are getting sold (like this one was)
even though i am a big sport fan/enthusiast, if if had been mine and i was selling, i would of sold with all the parts available!
Anyway, enough about that as it was Vaughans decision to keep the interior etc and it doesnt look like it will be available anyway. But can i have firs refusal of any of the sport stuff if you do decide to part with it..cheers mate!
Cheers for the offer Bazil, will have a think. Wouldnt mind trying to get the 1 piece bench that i was on about.
Got a couple of standard rear bench's here too mate,

I am looking to restore her,and assessing it currently and a massing part, I can guarantee what ever her fate, it will not be broken ;)
Greg has done a marvelous job, so far, I am sure that if fellow Sportsters who have parts to aid Greg they will assist where possible;)
I am personally grateful to others who have assisted me todate on Sport2 so far:thumb:
As far as im aware the sport was not really for sale and Sturge only sold it to Vaughn as he was desperate for one and assumed it would be going to a good home and would be restored correctly, and then when vaughn sold it i am sure it was never for sale as a complete car only the shell and engine?
Could be wrong but thats how i read it.
It was only the shell that was forsale but Greg managed to get the original engine off Vaughan as well.
I think the thing that has most people moaning is that Sport bits are rare, and buying one that just needed a restore, then breaking it for no apparent reason or gain was a little silly, albit it was Vaughans to do as he pleased.
IMO it should of been kept complete, and i would of have had a good look round the shell prior to buying so i could see if i could complete the project, if not i would have left it to someone who could complete it.
Also to add, i think if Greg manages to get a one peice rear Sport bench and some heater/clock blanks that will sort the interior Sport wise, as Royston says other Sporters will help, and unless you get completely anal you wont notice the other bits.
