My Nova Build -WIP-

You've been at the garage all day... update please :D with pics :p

Cool project. Some great work. It'll be a weapon when finished.

Spent some well deserved time on the car this weekend! Had a few jobs that needed to be done as there's been a slight change of plan for the car... I was intending on painting it myself but I had an offer that I could not turn down as it will mean the car will be painted quicker and better than I could do it and is a very good price that I could not miss! (Let down I know copping out on doing it myself but ho hum!!:p )

The painter had a look at the car last weekend and said he wants it with all the pannels on, so that was this weekends job along with a few other bits and bobs. Picked up some new hinge pins for the doors and tailgate this week in preparation too.

First off we fitted the front wings. We had quite a few issues with them not sitting properly and catching in places as expected for pattern parts, but nothing a bit of grinding and filing didn't sort.

Rested bonnet on to see how straight the wings sat (I know theres a bigger gap on one side compared to other but thats just because we rested the bonnet on and it wasn't sat exactly in the middle!)

Finished cutting the doors out

Then fitted them and fettled with the wings again to get the best pannel gaps we could. Then got the tailgate on

And finally chopped the strengthening out the bonnet to lighten it

Then just finished of some filling and sanding and general tidying up. Heres a few pics of the car that now once again resembles a nova!!

awesome update ian! well done mate... first time in what... 2 years since it last looked like a Nova from the outside?

did you get more 'pre-paint' pics, as once its painted, you'll never see it like it is ever again :D

Not sure when the cars going in the bodyshop but it will be painted for just after Xmas all being well, so pics to follow then :thumb:

Cheers Olly, yea just over 2 years since it had all the pannels fastened on properly! lol

I've got a fair few pre paint pics but thats all i've ever been greeted with upon opening the garage doors everytime so cannot wait to see it all one colour! lol
