i spoke to my mate mark about my coilovers and he had a chat and then we went to gaz and got these fitted one on the passengers side rear having a bit of trouble with it its hitting the inner arch and then when i went to put my wheel on the tyre hit the spring so ive put a steel whell on at the mogoing to have a good look tomorrow or should i say today

With my rear coilovers fitted i've gotta run a 5mm spacer on the drivers side to clear the spring, but no spacer on the pass side and it clears by a good 2mm, quality Novas !!
If your making up your own brake lines then how come you've bought a brake line kit (4 hoses) ? you should've just ran the hoses your making up direct to the calipers. Also did you order all the fittings (ends) seperatly or did you get them to just send you a set of random fittings ?
Good luck with it anyway.
Rich
nah mate see dars thread i think it was his one just copied his one but im stuck on the rear calipers
Think you should of sat down and decided were you wanted to route it, that hose for the rear lines seems to be going somewhere random !! i'd of thought that you'd of wanted it pointing down instead of up so you could have it coming thru the bottom of the bulkhead nearer the centre of the car then you could have it running along the exhaust tunnel, then split it in 2 towards the rear of the car.
I've found Banjo type fittings are easier for attatching to the Calipers.
do you know the sizes of them and the bolts aswell cheers fella
If the way you've routed it connects up ok then i wouldn't worry about it, just looked a bit of a long way round to route it to me, sure it'll work fine tho, Think the rear Calipers are M10 x 1.0 ... or are they 3/8 unf ??? hmm ... not a 100% sure tbh !!
looks a great project mate.....
was that an original nova roll cage?????or 1 made 2 suit????
the reason im saying this is because i modified mine 2 suit the nova(it was originally for an opel kadette coupe) and my mounting points on the rear arch werent that far away from where urs are(mine were maybe a wee bit more to the inside of the arch)
i'd mine all nicely painted n'all..and mounted in with almost flush coach bolts
and what happend ?????.......the buggers were scrubbing on my tyres when cornering..so i had 2 take them out
just something 2 bear inb mind mate.......
mine was lowered 60mm and on 16 inch speedlines
thanks mate yeh it is a omp one but still needed modifying to fit had to chop the front legs down by a inch an half the and the back one side sat flat so my mate had to make a bracket up so it would sit right as for the bolts i put them inwards plus i chopped the down my wheels rub at the back on the inner arch they are 16s comp mo`s dont like spacers so am selling them now to get 15s ive gotta trim the door bars down where they slot in as when i went to put them on the paint chipped off where we put a thick layer on bugger
got some bits done today had to go down my mates at kwik-fit to take the tops off my old struts and put them on the coilovers then when i came back i bumped into my mate which ive been meaning to get hold of as lost his number so he could do some welding for me and by luck he aint that busy at the mo so going round in couple of weeks my engine should be done by then had a bit of bad news my pistons are nackered so more money anyway its a good thing really as can up the boost with no worries heres some pics of my work today after i got caught in the rain (bloody weather)
my old strut dont know the name of these but there really good i think there from japan

http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...4062007040.jpg
What's the plan for the rear interior arch now you've cut it out?
ive just cut the inner skin it only hits about 4 inches up thats the spring i mean then its ok theres no weight in the back really so dont really need to strengthen that much really
done some more bits today not a lot still feel rough (bloody flu) couldnt stay in again wasnt gonna let the rain beat me
thought i would reedo the back brakelines they was too tight the and i also put my bias brake adjuster in put it hear for now just so its out the way for the minute just got to get some p clips for the braided hoses forgot to get them oh well all i have to do is just put the front brakes back on put some fluid in and check for leaks hope there aint none

A good bash would of sorted the rear inner arch imo, only needs a few mm clearance. The rear shock bodys look pretty long, if thats how the springs are gonna sit then i'd lockwire them to the top spring cap & top of shock body so they attatched to the top instead of falling down on to the lower spring seat, the top spring seat looks like they could fall out from what i've seen with mine.
Manifold looks ok, you've saved yourself a hell of alot of work buying one already done, just in the middle of sorting mine, swapped the lower flange to suit a T3 tho, what turbo you gonna be running, GT28 ? you've gotta move the rad forward & chop the slam panel for clearance as well.
Seems to be coming along.
:thumb:
cheers r1ch gonna get a gt28rs i know about the rad and slam panel only needs abouy 4inch slot cut out whats lockwire are they fitted properly as never done coilovers before was gonna bash it in but im fussy like that i was going to get a t3 but the gt are dual bearing so the turbo down work as hard well it aint met my driving yet just waiting for the engine to come back phoning them tomorrow to see whats going on the i can put it in then weld the f28 mount up and some over bitsthat need doing
looking good mate
were did you get the front bumper from ??
why its just a standard gsi one which i cut the hole out of with me dremmel there the nuts
Thay seem to look ok, i drilled a small hole in opposite sides on the top mounts (where the spring seat sits against) then 2 in the spring seat, this meant i was able to tie the spring to the spring seat and the top mount, so when the car was jacked up the spring stayed attatched to the top of the shock and not dropped down and loose like yours is in the pic.Quote:

arp bolts
oil squirters
honed block

lightend flywheel and refaced
lap crank
skim block min to clean
mig wire block
forged pistons accralite
heavy duty bearings
new up rated oil pump
new water pump
new cam belt kit
compotition head gaskets
