Looking good, shouldnt be long now then.
not long till it blows up Phil!lol brakes feel crap! pedal is long!
lol lets hope not, although i seemed to go through enough problems with mine to get where i am now.
nova seems ok, sorted the non working side repeater, and sorted the horn! mot is booked for wednesday! its all insured aswell so will take it out if it passes! only problem i can see atm is the headlight allignment! also the tracking will need sorting asap!lol
It lives!!!!
It makes me so sad watching that video clip of my old car. I wish I hadn't sold it now..
Awesome, be great to see this in the For Sale pages!
LMFAO
not sure if i posted, but drove it at Marks! all seems fine!
took it up the private road the other day at my house! first run it blew a small coolant hose! dont think it was on too well! second run it went fine! only running 0.35 of boost to be safe, Mark seems to think it will do 300hp@ 1.2bar after that its up to me how much further we go with it! will see how the running in process goes as im sure there will be faults!!lol
every thing is done for the mot! so we will see how it goes!
small vid from the other day!

also Howell do you know if the bumpers were ever painted at all? as it needs 2 new bumpers realy! and i cannot see for the life of me how the rear number plate light hole has beenfilled in as it looks like the standard dimple effect on the rest of the bumper? surly it must have some thin coats of dark grey on the bumpers?:wtf:
looking good dude keep up the good work
Mot went fine! no advisories etc! seems fine apart from the cv boot has come away from the cv its self:roll:
So its legal again! Awesome well done Dan.
yup done about 30 miles today, realy enjoyed it apart from dam arches rubbing! also how freaky is this about 4people work where i take my cars to be mot'd! i last mot'd the nova there is august 02! since then i have never had the same bloke do an mot for me!, when i took the car down today, it was the bloke that tested it in 02! freaky!!
Got my digi cam fixed today (put new batterys in!) , had to go down and check my dads boat so thought id take the nova as i havnt had any new photos of it for a fair while!, next job today is another oil change, maybe its last one on mineral oil as ive done about 200miles now, so one last stint to about 300-350 miles on the cheap stuff!
also going to get my cam sensor pick up made!

bored today, so decided to take the bumper off and spray the i/c matt black! looks alot better imo? got a chip on it already though
went for another long drive, done just under 300miles now, so decided to bond on the towing eye cover!----could be fate!

and one of the new cam pickup,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...Picture026.jpg
Looks much more stealthy. Nice
Will MATT not change its cooling effect tho?
awsome mate
Looks miles better now dan. Only thing with the cam pickup is with the cam cover been rubber mounted is there not a chance it will possibly vibrate slightly and cause ecu faults?
At least yours fecking runs. O to have mine rolling on 4 wheels!
Rick should be fine imo, once the cam cover is bolted up most of the squish/movement is removed from the rubber any way! done about 60miles on the set up so far with out an error;)
get yours sorted, you were full of hope the other day, now your on suicide watch with it againlol did you sort that oil weap?
looks great mate, one of the best novas on here, matt black intercooler looks more stealth so its easier creeping up on evos and scoobys and embarresing them!
love it! what colour are the bumpers b the way are they the original grey?
Looking mint -- Sounds good in that wee video back a couple of pages with all the popping and so on..
dan your car is looking awsome, scooby's and evo's bewarelol
thanks for the nice comments!
sorted out a small niggle, oil pressure was dropping off as the revs went up, as suspected the pesky pressure relief valve had jammed its self open! greased it all up and but a shim in, to put abit more pressure on the prv, all is well again!
i have 20 more miles to go then imo its run in, so will flush the oil, and put some semi synthetic in there along with a new filter, may also drop the sump and clean out any metal fines from the running in process!
also swaping the dizzy for a distributerless coil pack set up as it has a random missfire!
Finally ! good to see this is finally on the road.
PS You want to hope if you remove the sump that is NO metal filings anywhere ! anything in the sump has been round the engine which is not good if its bits of metal.
Random misfire could well be the cam trigger location imo, it should be bolted directly to the engine, not a cover which could easily vibrate, the smallest of movements could cause a random misfire as you describe.
Coilpack is a good idea either way though :)
imo there is no movement in the cam cover once the bolts are tight, i have done about 150miles on the set up, if the miss fire was cam pick up related it would show up as a sync error, and ive had no errors since moving to this set up!:)
removed the sump after some swearing and its totaly clean!:) better to be safe than sorry i suppose!, glad i did it as it peace of mind!
Thats fair enough, If it was mine I would mount it to the actual engine but I appreciate your way of thinking.
maybe in the future i could look to use the standard vaux no1 pick up in the dizzy cap blanking plate!, the pick up can run out by 5 degrees advance or retard any way:) plus Mark told me to put it in the cam cover and i trust his advicelol
I can go with that lol If anyone should know Mark would
looks much better with the black 'cooler. more subtle!
just been up and ordered the new sump gasket, so will have some fun fitting that either this afternoon or tomorrow, also ordered the new bosch ignition module as i need 2 to run the coil pack, all that is left now is to order the correct plug and pins for the module and the correct 3 pin one for the coil pack!:)
Man thats beautiful, love the black inter, such a good idea, super sleeper.
Whats the deal with running it on cheap oil?
should run an engne in on mineral to get a better ring/bore seal as it creates more friction on the bore!
done the sump gasket! **** of a job on your back!, took the engine loom out as it was starting to get a mess in the footwell so thats looking better now, just need the coil pack off Rick, so should be running again by the end of the week, which could decide its future!
very nice car problies the best on here imo top work fella:thumb:
