ok. so today ive had the most progress of all days. i started with my nl stickers. one on the glove box, 2 in either rear side windows. 1 on the tailgate window and 1 above the drivers head on the front window. after that i set about a trip to the scrap yard. i got a dash clock, a cowling (steering lock cover) a new ignition lock all for free. when i was on my way out the scrap yard owner shouted " hey dave. theres a beemer (bmw) over there thats getting crushed. do you want any bits off it? ". i immediatley saw the m3 mirrors ( i know all nl'ers hate them lol) but for free i just had to snap them up. even if they didnt fit my nova. anyway i got back the garage and the clock didn't fit. great. the ignition lock went straight on and so did the cowling. after that i tidyed evrything up behing the dash using insulation tape and cable ties.. then i looked at the m3 mirrors. i modified the screw holes using some old pipe and a saw and file. in 20 mins hey presto. ok looking m3's. really pleased with the result then i whipped out my mew grill and stuck it on. then to finish off removed the seat belt holders (the little balck arms). however that didnt take me all day. for the rest of the day i was fighting with thr steering wheel. 3 hours of pulling really knackared me so i couldnt get it off. so old sr one on for now. so im after a steering wheel puller if anyone will lend me 1. i went to the nova at 1pm today and got back at 10pm tonight. so alot of hard work
anyway please leave your thoughts on the car. cheers
dave

take those mirrors off
Tax is out of date, appart from that looks okay:D
Lol! he's only just put them on! But yeh, aftermarket stuff never goes well on novas i dont think, still, good effort buddy:thumb:
thats a fake :S tbh. i made it on photoshop. just to put it on the truck thats all
no1 tell hehe
I got the same tax disk holder:D
Cus we is hardcore init bruv! Lol, pain in the ass having to unscrew about 6 screws just to change the tax disk!
yeah tis abit annoying
Ok i'm lost, i respect what you are doing and its very good so far, but when i was a kid i was more into getting busy with the girls and getting drunk/high etc etc. have times changed that much that even the younger generation waste all their spare time sat infront of computers and waste money on cars they cant drive? (read as, on the road and cruising around)
Dont be offended, i'm just suprised lol :D
Foook, it looks real,Lol.Quote:

Thats got to be the single most pointless faked thing ever - the police never bother looking at a tax disk any more (only if you have or don't have one displayed), they check your reg plate on the DVLA database - on which the vehicle will come up as untaxed and you not only end up with a fine for driving an untaxed vehicle but also a severe bollocking for having a fake tax disk!! :wtf:Quote:

When i got done on my bike, the police officer didnt even ask where my tax disc was! (in my wallet). He most probley already knew it was taxed before he got out the car.
Looking good dave.
Your doing more work on yours than I am on mine. lol

lol yours looks nice draper. settled on a colour yet?
and matt. yours will be done soon.
anyway i think i might start with the filler soon if i can get the dam paint code. no plate under the bonnet
anyone know where it is? other that on the slam panel
ok the steering wheel isnt budging either. ive whacked f00k out of it with my rubber mallet. and the rubber fell off. so its now a mallet lol
so how do you remove them. ive been told if you rock it it recks the brushes. and steering wheel puller are like ?20
no VIN plate, fake tax disc, 14yr old in a nova - it suddenely all fits !! lol :thumb:
as for colour, nope - not a bloody clue !! might let the bodyshop 'surprise' me lol
I think thats the only place it'll be mate.
It looks as though my spare time will be spent desperately trying to get my younger brothers tigra alloys for his mk3 astra sprayed up in black before the Oxford meet.
Plus the whole car needs a t-cut.
lol im 13 its sorn and tax disc is now burnt
as for the vin its not not there. its come back as red. so its been sprayed. so either im colourblind red or its been sprayed blue.
i think its aruba tho. looks liek it in halfords
So your doing all this work to a car you can't drive for 4 years?
Dedication is the word your after.... I'd of gived anything to spend 4 years working on my first car before I drove it.
Not really, in 4 years time the car is gonna have a whole host of new problems........
Like?
4 years of rust! for beginners!
Well he's got plenty of time to practice welding... plus its garaged I think.
but if he sorts that now and underseals it all etc etc it'll probably be the last nova standing !!
I'm sorry but i just cant see the point. God how many times did i change my mind on things between 13 and 17? respect for doing it up but my advice would be to sell it, buy a nice skateboard or BMX and get back into cars when your old enough to enjoy the fruits of your labour!
Never mind respect for doing it up, repect for being able to buy the thing in the first place! how much do paper rounds pay these days? Are you some kind of youth pimp/drug dealer selling pritt stick to the younger bairns? i know i never had more than ?30 when i was 13!
seriously though you should try and focus on trying to get cheap SR/GTE/GSI bits for it instead of stickers etc
yeah thats what im doing now
lookign at a gte kit
anyway its better than having a criminal record and 3 asbos on my ****. anyway if i want to work for the place i wanna i have to have a clean sheet.
anyways would you rather have some 13yr old lad smashing and bmxing on your nova or some 13yr old lad doing up a nova that 1 day will be the only thing left?
Whatever way you look at, i very much doubt you'll end up driving it.
bet i will luke. i meen a bit of hours welding and a skim of filler and abit of tdying up and itll be right as rain.
anyways. seen as its in a garage with all the tools around it that it needs to be fixed with id say im pretty set
and how hard is it to swap a red top? not thinking of doing it. its for a mate. hes got a corsa sxi
Good luck, just dont see it.
bet i will
ill dedicate the rebuild to novaload.net. ill have novaload stamped into the chassie next time im there
if you don't go balls out on it, all that rust is just gonna come thrugh again in 4 years time !
anyway the lads got a pointQuote:
