Ricvk it's for sale in the back of the latest TV - we know know roughly how much you paid!
Poor Ben's phone must be ringing off the hook! lol

In the meantime LEE H gave me a fuel filler cap.... Originally a silver Novatech item in a little rough condition.... Pics off Novatech
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/2ca5cdc8.jpg
Painted it Vauxhall Mica Graphite (dark grey with gold pearl) and was gonna get the wheels to match, but decided it was too dark and rbbed it down again....

Settled on Vaux Mistral Grey and re-painted...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/134d8ff2.jpg
Gonna get my wheels done the same, and possibly the rocker cover and other bits under the bonnet.... Needs new stainless allen headed bolts to finish off but you get the idea!
Painted half a bar off my rollcage in Mstral as well, to see if i like it...

Not too sure.....????? Opinions???
Yeah that colour looks nice. What about gold to match wheels
Nice car btw:thumb:
Mistral looks ace mate, understated and not too lairy.
Wheels won't be goid much longer...
Preffered the Mica Graphite but Mistral doesn't look too bad at all.
Get pics up when the wheels are done!
Mica Graphite Looked Excellent In Sunlight With A Bronzey/gold Flip But Was Just Toooooo Dark For Wheels....
Is Mica graphite a phase one Vectra colour??
Am I thinking of same colour??
The colour looks very nice.
Mica Graphite-only seen it on an Astra TBH. Looks black unless it's sunny then it looks dark grey with bronze/gold flips....
i was thinking about spraying my petrol cap but just couldnt decide if i should colour code it red or dark grey.
what did it spray like, take much rubbing down?
your car is going to look even better mate :thumb:
looks good dude!
[quote=RJM25R]Yeah, to cut a long story short for the people who are new-ish, I "knew" the car through the North West VPCC/PNG when it was built by Garry Hope. Garry spent nearing ?20k on the car, then sold it to _BEN_ who had it for 3-4 years but due to engine probs (car had a mega high spec engine)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/6d1c9a3b.jpg
he didn't use it much.
I am part-way through a mega-rebuild on my own Nova,

Pics of my purple one are from Saddleworth Moors, Yorkshire.
Car still with Fearless, fitting front wheel bearings and a new gear linkage as well.....
ah so that purple one was yours then. that looks wicked with the silver cage.
cheers for the tip on the cap mate:thumb:
looks extreamly similar to the mountains near me, top gear film there a lot.
Still got the purple one, but it's in pieces as per the last pic....
i finally managed to get TV today, thought it was strange this car was up for slae so soon !!!
Got the car bacjk this morning, some quality work by Fearless Motorsport...
When I got the car, I was unhappy with how scruffy and random the wiring seemed to be, and I asked Dave (Fearless) what he could do to improve...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/a9b1ecde.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/85fd252e.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/fa365244.jpg
He suggested cutting and re-routing as much wiring under the bonnet as possible, and re-looming with a black nylon braiding like this...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/003e8f36.jpg
looking good,
Looking good dave/rick
What else have you planned?
Keith
So Fearless got to work with his magic pliers and fairy screwdrivers and....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/ada7d494.jpg
Samco'd up and re-wiring ahoy....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/4e0ab1e0.jpg
Crappy SFI box removed and throttle body cleaned...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/cc7e271e.jpg
New SFI box (later type) cut and plastic welded to fit bulkhead panel better.....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/b3e359da.jpg
Nica pic of car without grille fitted, you can see the Kenlowe fan and the custom-made stainless bracket for the oil-cooler that's not usually retained on the 16v conversion.....
I see you've wired it in with the big round plug!
I'd didn't use that as you don't need all the wires and use this plug a little further down the line instead. It sits inbetween the round plug and the engine loom.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...XE-Starter.jpg
This plug has all the wires in it you need to get the engine wired up. Helps to tidy things up!
Simps.
I see your not looking at getting a power cap from courtney then? Personally i think the boxes look better to some extent but they do look a bit standard?
Power caps can gain a couple of BHP but lose bottom end torque so i'll stick with the SFI for now.... I fancy some Weber 45's (Did u hear me Fearless???!!!)
Anyway, back to the engine bay.... Dave cleaned out the breather hoses and replaced them, and fitted new jubilee clips wherever possible. The braiding was used wherever possible including the wiring to the horn (!!!)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/9026f5a2.jpg
You can see how the wiring is much neater, and the top rad tpiece has been spaced underneath to look "cleaner"

Brake fluid res and cap covers made in stainless steel
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/00586a83.jpg
Piper-x air filter and samco connector. Note new breather hoses.....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/9a4aab3c.jpg
Fearless motorsport front alloy strut brace fitted and later-style SFI box mentioned earlier....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/17f47ed9.jpg
Nice overall front picture..... Still got work to do like painting/cleaning brackets, some stainless bolts and washers, stainless heat shield......
Just compare these two sets of pictures though though..... When I got the car

How much cleaner/neater??? Note the wiring loom is mostly hidden now or tied back. Comments welcome, and suggestions of how to improve the engine bay further??????
that does look well better. im was going to say get a heat sheild but you already are, that'll add a nice bit of shine nearer the front of the bay hopefully, nice
looks nice mate!
can i just ask...where do you get them Brake fluid res and cap covers made in stainless steel??
been after one for a while now!
cheers
How much do you charge to hide looms lol!!
Novaco,
The question is how much would u pay for a brake res cover and cap.... These are one-offs I had made at great expense... I may be able to get more made.......
Novastyla,
If you read the thread properly, you'll note that I haven't done the looming work, FEARLESS has done it for me while I went on holiday.... You can PM him but he's in Turkey for a week...
