and front axle s 430kgs :thumb:
Thats real nice! Can u tell us what you have done to make it so light? Part for part?
have u got a fiberglass tail gate on that already?
I've removed all interior trim and sound deadening etc, I've cut out all the unused brackets (eg seat mountings), I've drilled holes where possible (more to come :) ), It has a fibreglass bonnet, the windows are polycarbonate and the mechanisms for the front windows have been removed, the doors have been cut out, the bulkhead has been removed, the heater and dashboard are gone, the wiring loom has been cut-down and excess wires removed, the bumper re-inforcements are no more (just plastic bumper shells left),I have lightweight seats, I have only one mirror, the door handles are lightened, I removed the metal carpet support from the top of the exhaust tunnel and the servo and transfer bar have been removed in favour of a corsa bias pedal box.
Contrary to all that it has a full cage, bigger brakes, bigger heavier wheels, HH strengthening kit and seam welding, bigger/heavier wheels.
This winter I will hopefully fit lighter wheels (-10kgs), lighter brakes (-5kgs), lighten the shell and tailgate (-10kgs), fit a lighter battery (-5kgs) :D
Watch out for side winds... lol.
Good work though fella.
looking good mate
1. question tho... does al the holes youve drilled in the shell make it loose strength? and make it abit flimsy?
Martin
Oli's Lieing.... With Driver it was well over a Ton lol
Can I have a guess??? I reckon without driver.... Ermmmm
660kg's? :D
As far as im aware he's only drilled big holes in the chassis in the rear at the moment, which has an Integral welded in cage, so its actually stronger now than when it was new.

Project anorexia continues...
Ordered some goodies today, thought the lil fatty needed to lose a few pounds ;)
Winging their way to me (pun intended) are a pair of fibreglass front wings (see what i did there) and a fibreglass tailgate. Should help to make sure it gets fit not fat this winter :thumb:
I'll post pics when they arrive later this week (fingers crossed)
is it going to be road legal or a track only beast ??
Road legal i think.
Its road legal, I didn't have it on the road last year cos i couldn't afford to tax and insure it. But I'll be getting a full years use next year for sure :D
How much were your wings if you dont mind me asking?
?60 plus VAT each, they are from www.magnummotorsport.co.uk if you ring up and order tell them that Oli sent you :thumb:Quote:

didnt know wings were available, standard width yeah? no widearch crap.
surprised your not investigating doors oli?
cool fibreglass wings, i'll have to get some for my soon to be track weopon lol
Doors were gonna work out as too much money/time for the gain they represent, so I'll spend the time elsewhere for now ;)Quote:

fair do's, its all for practical and thought out mods, hope it works dude, will 'look' very odd though, but by the looks of it looks are not the main concern just performance, which i do admire.
Oli, your a leg end! I shall be purr chasing a pair of them wings for mine methinks. Cant be letting you get away with even more weight advantage lol
Haha, putting fibreglass wings on your lardy big block is like ordering a supersize big tasty meal with a diet coke lol lol lolQuote:

~Hmmm i like.
Don't paint them, it'll only add more weight :p. :D
Thats a good point you've raised. Are FG panels ok left in the unpainted form?Quote:

I hate doing anything bodywork related, so that would be a massive no-no.Quote:
