Yeah he's made a great job of it. I'm chuffed to bits with it, just hope I don't have to cut it for the intercooler lol

Ben of corsa sports doesn't look like that now though ;-)
Plus this is going to be the only carbon road going nova in Europe lol
Epoxy glue will bond those rear quarters on ;-)
I'd need to look at my shell but I'm pretty sure the roof skin doesn't hold the sunroof cassette, if your have gone this far getting the other panels it would be a travesty not to do the roof,
Luv the arm bending...Rear quarters would look sweet, yeah glue 'em on :d
Shame not to do the roof skin also lol
Keep up the good work fella!!
This is gona be some car when it's done buddy, love the carbon goodness.
Keep up the great work mate.
David.
I'll decide on the roof later, I'll probably just endup getting it done. Thanks for the good comments people :)
Not an update but thought i'd put up some pics of the engine, exhaust manifold, turbo and inlet manifold. i bought the engine around 2 years ago from a 54k mile calibra turbo that had been rear ended. The turbo is a precision turbo 6262 got this, the exhaust manifold and wastegate off david dixon on here. heres some pics, not the best quality as taken with my iphone again.

I absaloutly love exhaust manifold like that! looks mean lol
wow - some money going into this project! It'd be rude not to do the roof though, it would feel left out :)
Wow, gonna be pretty special when its finished!
Cheers :) looks like im getting my arm twisted into getting the roof lol
Would be rude not too.
Not sure there is really a massive need for a carbon roof, is there? How much weight saving is there to be made from it? and what about losing strength from having a roof bonded on? Are people suggesting it just because it would look cool and because so much of the rest of the car will be carbon. Could just paint the standard roof black or wrap it, if its really a visual reason over any other benfits.
There's no strength in the roof skin, Plus carbon is stronger than 2mm steel.
Yeah I'd guessed carbon could be stronger, but I mean more about how its attached to the body, is welded on metal stronger than glued on carbon? I would have thought the roof does add a fair bit of rigidity to the shell. Seems like a lot of effort for minimal gains to me, I'm just questioning what the motivation is, other than just being able to say it has a carbon roof.
I know what your saying mate, the structural strength is something I've been thinking about. Nothing is set in stone yet, it's something I will have to think about.
Strength in a nova shell? Are you having a fcuking laugh!! They have no no strength in the panels, only in the way they are added together.
i don't know much about the strengths etc, but i would be having a full weld/bolt in cage if your doing the quarters/roof
Why all the holes around the side?

Mmm it's a bit of a pear; can you get it back to a bare shell & on a spit?
I'll hopefully have it to a bare shell soon, unfortunately I have insufficient room for a spit. I just hope it can be fixed ok I reckon I could pull most of the front off the car with my hands it's that soft....
Mine was gone in the same place looks cool tho , are you going to jig it ?
Was yours repaired ok mate?
I will get you a pic pal .
Best I can find at mo . Hope it helps

Thanks for putting the pics up guys, its made me feel a bit better about the situation knowing it should be fixable. hopefully have it in the bodyshop soon :)
rust is lighter than carbon lol lol
The poor thing :( I reckon your going to be ploughing some mega money into this shell now.
Just get Chris to make a Carbon shell lol
If only lol at least I'm getting the quarters I'll only have to worry about repairing the inners, still depressing though lol
Shame about the condition of the shell mate, but as said all fixable with a bit of time and money.
