Pics or I'm a non believer I'm affraid pal.
I think a 106 gti/vts engine would be good in a light weight nova.
custom mounted engine further towards the passenger side inner wing was quite a big job it sits about 25mm closer to the inner wing than i would on a hondaQuote:

Pics needed mate!
yes when also including the 25mm strecht lower arms and steering rack so allows 50mm ish extra clearance on the gearbox side pics will be on later today when i finish workQuote:

yawn lol
i konw some people dont think its pos because of the amount of custom work involved but i'm an engineer by trade and my dads a trained mechanic and engineer also so its a little easier to over come some of the probs
the sums 'could' work (fag packet engineering FTW)
pics will always be needed tho otherwise you'll just get every man and his dog jumping on the 'its not possible, your a liar' bandwagon
was a class build this!!Quote:

Similar car - Honda engine in a tigra, although not exactly a straight fit, lol.:thumb:

the honda engine in the one a few years back was fitted and was a video of it driving around his yard. he couldnt get full lock because of the gearbox though, it was deffinetly in there though.
im surprised you lot havnt realised by now to not jump on the band wagon of disbelieving and hating when people state they have built something.
pics comin up soon just loading what i got onto photobucket
not supprised that didn't work its a k20 vtec thats about 2.5 inches longer then the b16b vtec i'm usingQuote:

you will of course have noticed the hole in the inner wing this is where the new mount was to be welded in as below
http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/z...40310_1211.jpg
next we had to build up a mount on the drivers side inner wing which would hold the gearbox mount

http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/z...40310_1651.jpg
in the first pic you will see that there is no inlet on the engine and the clever among you will be thinking the bais peddle box would be in the way this was cured easily by using an interior floor mounted bais peddle box which also helps solve the hydraulic clutch problem
as to the extended lower arms and steering rack ends i mentioned earlier in the thread i cant find the pic of the lower arms but will take a new one when i get a min but heres one of the extended rack ends
http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/z...310_164902.jpg
it was simple to achive just cut the rack add a thread too both the cut ends then make a piece of steel with the same thread in either end but with a 25mm blank section between so that when screwed together again the rack ends would be 25mm longer i also welded them to be sure
****ing love it. up yours you hater pricks
/hating
lol
im glad i had a little faith in the lad and never joined the non believer club lol
the engine does mount with no probs with wheel catching gearbox when i've got it remounted i will post up a pic as the engine and box are out at the mo because i'm uprating the engine with light weight flywheel new shell and rings and the box is away being reconed and having its new kaaz lsd and 4.7 final drive fitted as soon as the box is back the bottom end and box will be going straight back in
cheers for the faith guys lol
couple of pics of the moded fly wheel its a standard one and i thort i'd replace it with a mugen one but after looking at the mugen one i thort to myself i can do that with the standard one heres some pics first befor the work

weight was roughly a lil over 9kg now after the work
http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/z...30210_1502.jpg
http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/z...30210_1501.jpg
after turning and milling the finish weight was 4.25kg
Good job i wasnt a non beliver lol just skeptical as to how youve over come the "known" problems of a Tec'er into Nova conversion.
The B16 & 18's are fapping brilliant engines tho!!!
me and my dad love a challenge he used to rally an old talbot sunbeam with its origonal ti engine but we then fitted a toyota 4age 16v engine but after a bit he got board with that and upgraded to toyota 4age 20v blacktop on standard itb's
so were used to a bit of graft! lol
funking hell mate sounds like a great laught that you and your dad get up too !!
we do mate loadz of fun but lots and lots of time and money that we dont really have lolQuote:

thanks for the positive comments i've had i dont blame the people who thort i was just talking sh1t you hear a lot of stories of strange conversion that never turn out to be truth just wish i'd started this when near my home comp so could post the pics sooner might have saved about 75 posts lol
