That looks awsome mate. I was considering Turboing my C25XE but this is something else.
On the note of gearboxes I blew my F20 on sat night but I recon it was because of a lose gearbox mount causing me to miss the gear :p lol. I'm putting another F20 in it. They are fine for big bhp imo as long as they are well looked after.
f18wr out of a densel astra would work better imho, thats what im using on my let
This project is nutts! Liking the Black btw, an overlooked colour on Novas.
Are you still using the F18 now the turbo is involved?
yeah the f18 is a WR from a derv and will be good for around 178mph @6800rpm iirc, if it holds up to the added turbo is another question but i'm not a one shy of trying a couple to test it out!
David.
The SAAB engine is a 3.0 v6 but the turbo setup is old school and not as good as the new vectra vxr one, this runs from both heads giving an equal flow.Quote:

What an F18 WR From?
lol the 3.0V6 Turbo saab engine is lower power than the N/A one!
I'd be a bit wary of the gearbox, turbos push up torque quite nicely and thats what will munch a gearbox. My V6 pushes 199lbft of torque and has eaten 3 F20s already.
Less Power lol.Quote:

looking good look a lot difren't sinc the last time i seen it lol
Quality!!!!! Thinking well out of the box with this one. Like it :thumb:
you would get away with that, run it around 5-6 psi with your compression which i think is around 10.8:1, that should see your 250Quote:

This has taken a rather good turn, madness but its awesome!! Only thing that sounds a bit iffy is the gearbox, is there not something stronger you could use? especially if your looking for 320bhp
This is very interesting, that engine doesn't even look overly big in the bay from that angle.
yeah for sure, we could use a f28 or a f40, we do have a f28 sitting there but i like the idea of the longer gearing to hold that boost up longer, the worst that can happen is it'll break a box anyway, we'll just chuck another on.
David.
To be fair there isn't alot between them vaux v's and this one, gearbox face on the block is a bit different(holes out of line etc) and the timing pulleys/covers are different but generally its taken from the same blockQuote:

well we've been cracking on today.......
removed the TC motor, throttle flap, welded the holes up then flowed it open by 2 mm
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...32se/32t13.jpg
Then sorted out the lower part of the inlet manifold to match the 3.0 lower divider
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...0z32se/32t.jpg
fitted calibra turbo injectors
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...32se/32t10.jpg
We then started rubbing down and painting, first was the engine cover then the inlet manifold and lower arms

Looks like it's home though ;)

There's just enough room for the down pipe etc mateQuote:

looks good mate. any idea when the engine will be here?
So, if you're running a VXR Turbo on a 3.2 engine, what sort of management system are you going to use?
soon as the couier gets back to me i'll let you know mateQuote:

We have got all the wiring finished off, turbo feed pipes welded up and wrapped along with the down pipe, fuel lines are finished off with a black top race fuel reg and gauge, high pressure in-tank pump to replace the nova SPI pump, we have fitted a set of C20LET yellow injectors which should see us ok, we are just about finished the exhaust system, we went for 3" all the way through (including silencers) until it reaches the rear where it splits to 2 x 2 & 1/8" back boxes coming out the middle.
all suspension, bearing type tie bars and poly bushing complete.
The only real things we need is;
1 meter of 3" pipe to finish the system
turbo oil feed pipes,
fittings for external oil cooler (binned the water type)
fit the innovate wideband
intercooler piping to turn up so we can fit it all up
fit shafts and brakes then refit the front end!

I'll try sorting some pics out later in the week
David.
see now thats just silly!
but thats what we like to see *thumbs up*
it is a bit sill to be fair but i love it ha ha
