You may have noticed in the powder coating pics all the shocks are there. I have had them all cleaned and they will be getting painted rather than powder coated due to the heat involved. But that would of left them plain yellow so the nice man at http://bealim-signs.co.uk/ remade them just waiting on the part number stickers

funking awesome finishes. And the price isn't bad either for all those bits Something I will deffo consider when doing my conversion.
Lastly, Also took Paul to see the car at the bodyshop, He hasn't seen it for 6 months and hasn't seen it in its current form.

decided rather than have the lower valance stone chipped to save it from a hammering of stone chips I've suggested it gets done by the same guy that did the stickers for the shocks

This project is spot on, nice one Mark :)
Looking good Mark, nice to see the progress.
Thanks folk!
Todays update....
Due to the DTA management the rear water pipe will be getting modified out of sight to take a water tempreture sensor, new sensor is winging its way from the E of Bay, picture of said pipe (for no other reason than to just show you where I meen lol )
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/DSC_7631.jpg
Shocks have been done in high build primer ready for painting,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/DSC_7640.jpg
Rear drums painted and thermostat housing painted (the finish on these is unreal big thanks to the man who did these, he will be reading! ;) )
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/DSC_7635.jpg
Quick pic of how the spare bedroom is filling up!! Lucky it hasn't been decorated since moving in and the carpet (although all the parts are clean) will be getting replaced so no harm done :d
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/DSC_7639.jpg
Paul also spent the day doing the gear box, it has come up ok but it isn't finished yet so still a few more hours to spend on it, also the bolts will be replaced so it doesn't look a bit more realistic. We had considered having it blasted by a company we found at the NEC at the weekend but that would of been alot more expensive and all the bearings would of needed removed and replaced, not ideal as its just had a full strip and rebuild
Acid etch primer

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/DSC_7633.jpg
and a coat of Honda Satin Silver
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/DSC_7634.jpg
Also no picture yet but Paul collected the rest of the nuts and bolts from the platers. As well as the Zinc gold plating we've had done there have several nuts and bolts done in Zinc Black, a matt/satin black finish that protects against rust and is more or less what most of the bolts would of been done new, although when new i'm sure they just got dipped for a second and out, these have a nice thick coating and look brilliant
Paul is now traveling back home so its all back to me (you'll also notice the poorer qualirty pics starting again :d )

Very good work Mark - I need to get my interior cleaned up like that :)
im so jelous right now!
Comming on very very well dude.
Very nice mark. The shell looks solid
Awesome work! Cant wait to see this painted, if the work on it so far is anything to go by the finish should be quality.
Thanks, I intend to do the car justice and do it how it should be, not aiming for a concours whore just a very clean usable sport. Got some more parts today so will update tomorrow or sat
Looking great guys! :)
Nick.
Some well deserved hard work going into this, should be very nice when its done.
All the parts look awesome, and the shell too.
Can you PM me what all the powdercoated parts cost you? I'm looking to do a similar thing but wouldn't mind a rough price guide.
It's in the thread Iain. £220 ish for blasting and coating IIRC.
Immense looking build btw Mr Cabby. Will be good to see a famous Sport back on the black stuff. x4 Cibie Super Oscars FTW. lol
Thanks! Its coming together well, everything is on course to be ready for next week so it will all bolt together with relative ease.
The main head ache left to tackle is the wiring harness. Maybe have to call in a favor from a mate who is an auto electrician lol
Small update for tonight,
I asked at the platers about maintaining the finish on the zinc parts, I was told if I lacquer them then it will help, so the main parts got a bit of a dusting over to seal them up, will come up nice with a bit of a polish

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/P1050369.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/P1050371.jpg
Then tonight gave it a coat of satin black
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/P1050384.jpg
The fuel pressure regulator also came today so I build up the fuel pump assembly

All the Black Zinc treated bolts I mentioned
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...P/P1050387.jpg
Also gave the loud pedal a coat of satin, although i'm regretting not getting it powder coated in Satin to prevent wear...

More over the weekend :thumb:
Cracking project, coming together nicely fella :thumb:
Very nice pal. i bet you cant wait to se it all built up, thumbs up from me.
some proper work going on here, this is going to be stunning:thumb:
Thanks, yeah i'm looking forward to putting it all together. Doing this has given me the inspiration to get my spider finished as well. I think what i'll do with that will be exactly the same. I have lost a few parts I think (nothing major) for to put it back together, so if I do basicly the same as i've done with this and put it together then take it to bits and sort it all out I can bin a load of rubish in my garage and then know exactly what I need. Time consuming but worth itfor the end result
Bout time you mentioned getting on with the spider Mark its been far too long its been hiding as a shell in your garage, that one i really await with anticipation, ive not actually seen one in the flesh i dont think, hurry up and bail the sport and get your thread bumped/new one started lol
will do mate, got a few parts here recently for it so I may update it, no shell update yet

Loving the work on the Sport Mark, looking forward to progress on the spider more
Spider will be done in time, not in any hurry lol
Update for today, called past the bodyshop, to find this (looks very cream in the oven lights but it will be better outside, correct paint code etc used to i'm confident lol)

Tonight I spent some time sorting in the garage sorting more parts as they all need to be done by time the car comes back from the bodyshop as I wont have room to work with the car in the garage.
Remember this rough looking stainless centre section?
