nice car there mate, love the colour. will look forward to seeing more pictures.
No new pics im afriad...
But it does has have a new full 12 months MOT on it!
Put me £196 lighter in the wallet, but it's not bad for the work+mot in on the price etc.
Not to forget as well this car is about to turn 23 years old on the 6th of Nov.
Scott
Any welding??????????
Just kidding.
lol no, but i did get advisory on the rotten rear arches, and the drives seat sub frame, it's cracked on the lower section that bolts to the floor, can these be changed? or is it new seat? as i doubt i will find another seat like that!
£200 for an mot on a nova that ages is funking brilliant :thumb:
SR seats man FFS! Pretty sure you could rob the part from another chair, or just transfer the cloth cover from yours to another base.
Are the arches 'that' bad? gaffer tape FTW!
If the seats can come apart (i dont know, as Ive not look at this one that much, and have no others to compare them too) i will swap the subframe/frame work of the bottom seat section.Quote:

Cracking base for a project. I'm so glad I'm in love with mk1 novas lol
So i washed the car the weekend just gone, also did some detailing to it, took some scratches out with t'cut and polished the area's round the filler cap (also added my early mk1 cap) and some scratching by the door handles, and did some test patches to check on the color, as it's quite flat and faded, need to decide weather it's going to need full spray job or not??

Yesterday i traveled to Oxford to pick up a wing i bought on ebay for £10, so now i have a mint drivers front GM wing, just need the rear 1/4 panels and it can go in for body work...
Scott

Well it's the same age as my missis, i bought some retro style hi-top puma's the other week, put them on and a back to the future T i have and my grey hoodie, got in the car felt like i was a 80's teenager (though im almost 30) lol
Need to sort them rear 1/4's out and get the billy shocks re-furbed etc and get working on the underside refreshing it.
Oh the joys.... :d
Scott
Your love it when its finished, or at least how you want it.
Fresh paint will be great.
Well i think my plans have grown, as i was going to just do a face value re-store, but im now swaying to the full strip down and re-build type of job...
Just had a call of my painter, he said he's getting quiet, so has said to get everything ready to go in to paint in two weeks!
So basically i have to sort a few things and drop it to him and then either just before Christmas, or in the new year the car shall be painted.
Lots of plans to put in motion yet.....
Scott
Good news there then mate, are you doing both rear 1/4s then? some people say they're easier than just doing the arch panels as there's less to smooth in.
When mines eventually ready for a respray (one day lol) I think i'd go for full 1/4 panels.
Nope just repair panels, as the guy i know said he's more then confidante he will get them perfect!
And i trust him too.
haveing trust in your painter is a must to be fair i wont let any outher painter touch my nova or cav as simons work is so good and his eye for detail.Quote:

glad to hear your going all out on it mate :thumb:
Im debating to do the same with mine, gradually build it solid and rebuild an engine ready for when i can insure it
Well this guy did a "Acceptable" (as it's for track not show) job on the wings/bumpers/engine covers/strut brace/mirrors-grab handle etc on the orange one, and as he's one of my uncles best mates did it for £300
Plus he knows i want this one in a much better finish, so im not fussed that i have to pay more, but it wont be that much for the amount of work done etc.
Scott
Will be good to see it getting painted
Right as i have decided this is staying now, i committed my self some more and ordered the arch lips today, got two off side skins (use one for inner) and one for the near side, all from Beevers at a bargain price of under £40 as the posting is free as PNG gets the discount, frigging tops that is as i think i saved about £30!
Pic's when they arrive etc etc.
Scott
Glad to see you kept it mate, get plenty of pictures of your work :)
good work matey!
Looking foward to seeing progress :)
That makes two of us... :pQuote:

They look all OK, some slight kinks in them, but that will be all OK once welded to the car etc.

So after next weekends meet the car will be going in the body shop to start the work over Christmas, so in the new year it will have a some new panels and paint :thumb:
Scott
You wont use the whole panel anyway bud, your prob only use about 1 or 2 inchs in from the arch lip.
I presume your not doing it anyway?
Awesome!
Thanks for the Beevers tip. Just browsing their site and loon arch panels are cheap as chips! Might get a pair for safe keeping.

Right she gone in to the body shop today, I'll be keeping in touch to see what going on, and try get some pics of the progress too..
Cool, will be good to see how it gets on.
Whens it due back from the bodyshop Scott ?
Some time after the Christmas period, he's doing it over Christmas as a favor more then a normal job, as he's got more time etc, I'll give him a bell to see how it's going, must go get some pics if there is progress..
EDIT: Just off the phone to him, he's getting the tank off later this week, and then he's starting the work on it in the first week in the new year, so he's going to text me every time he does something to it.
Sounding good :)
love mk1's i will be doing one in the near future is there going to be a colour change or not?
