Whats the best way to fix a rust hole without welding? All holes are hidden behind bumpers
lol I can't believe you asked that question
well i have never worked with rust? My arches were done by a bodyshop. So everyone has to start some where right?
Would it be best just to use some filler? As people are telling me this. I need some PNG Advice! :)
It WILL need cut out (as you have done) and plated or a new panel put on - Whatever you can afford or come by the easiest
Filler would be a bodge from hell lol
Well i have purchased a new front panel, Just waiting for it to arrive. Only issue is there is no cross bar?
Front panel is bolted/welded? i was under the impression it was bolted now i belive it is both.
Front panel is welded on mateQuote:

Hang on, didn't this get new panels and a respray? if so why the hell did they leave rot in it??
But if i were you i would replace with all new pales, as it's bound tome back if you dont etc.
Scott
Had 1 new arch and 1 side had respray due to door colour, Full respray will be done as soon as all panels are sorted :)
I have orded new front panel, but am struggling to find rear panel.
For the wings i would replace, but not the rear panel, just get a grinder cut them out and treat the bare metal and then plate over mate, and then lots of stone gard etc, as it's not seen.
Scott
Wings are fine mate :thumb:
Only issues i have are front and rear panels, Front as stated before i purchased a new panel.
Rear i will just patch up the holes after treating them,
If i just treat the bare metal and dont patch the holes up could this cause future problems?
Oh yeah just looked again, looks like most the rot is cleaned out/off so should be OK once treated etc.
If you dont cover them and add more treatment/Stone chip/paint etc they will just continue to rot more mate.Quote:

connor
4 cassero alloys one alloy has a slight bit of damage, but should be fixable :)
Thinking of getting them gloss black with a red pinstripe? or no pin stripe?
**Will make more sense with the black bumpers on :)
no pinstripe imo will make it look like a jap styled car
connor
Fair does, I was debating wether to have or not, Will just stick with paint!! :)
Anyways ill catch ya later off to collect the wheels then popping down santa pop to watch my mate do a few runs on his bike :)
Picked up the new wheels today! Thanks Again Danny.
Plans are to referb i will be taking to a specialist tho. Will hae them blasted/power coated then sprayed a nice glossy black! :)

All was reading well there until I seen your colour choice lol
Whats wrong with that?
Black looks s*it tbh
Well i have black bumpers to fit, So i was trying to colour match the car :thumb:
Hmm it is your car and it's up to you - If it was mine (and my Mk2 Nova is similar) I'd have the bumpers grey and highly dressed or painted to a decent shine and some nice silver wheels :)
Well i have two sets of bumpers now ;) I am "Hopfully" fitting bumpers tomorrow and i will see what it looks like.
I purchased GSI Bumpers and side skirts but there were issues with the brackets which attach the bumper to the car so i had to start looking around for some new brackets in the end i gave up and just swapped them over from the old bumper :thumb:
GSi kit IMO should be colour coded to match the car but if your keeping standard bumpers I'd have them grey with a body-colour stripe :)
Cool project mate. Minor work but it's really making her look tidy. If you are going for black bumpers then black wheels will be fine. If your bumpers are gonna stay dark grey then an Anthracite on the wheels would look good.
At the end of the day it's your ride and your taste.
Thanks mate! Yeah well its my first car. I havn't really got the space/ money or knowlegde to start stripping the car and cutting roof's off and bits like that lol I just want to tidy her up keep the rust away and make it look "fresh" :thumb:Quote:

Thanks connor :thumb:
I will be fitting wheels tomorrow making sure everything fits, Send them off for referb. Then whack the bumpers on :) I need to treat my rust holes first, Does anyone know the best items to use?
if there hidden and you dont have a welder id cut out the rot treat with some sort of anti rust stuff then fiber glass some aluminium behind the hole and to give it strength and skim filler on the other side, sand, prime, paint job done
simples
