Single wiper mod looking good - did you mount it the same as mine ?
Nice update! Looking forward to seeing the finished article.
At the moment its held in with the big nut under the wiper arm.
Once its painted i will see about mounting it properly. Not sure yet what way to do it!!
Hows your 'little' project moving on then Dave??
Martin
good work mate! this will look superb when its finished!!
Nice progress dude!
Scott
Best to sort out the mounting before you paint it - Welding brackets on later isn't a good idea
A bit more progress yesterday.
My mate came round to look at the rats nest of electrics and run the headlight / indicator wiring etc inside the wing to neaten it up.
Bit more work to do but need engine in to power up the electrics to see what works or doesnt as the case maybe!!
Hopefully its of to paint with Ade Culley next Friday then i really start making progress and getting it back together.

As you can see still a fair bit to do. It looks worse than it is!
Stu decided to run the cable through into the wing from inside the car so it wont enter the bay until behind the headlight to keep it looking neat. Top job as always he did.
Martin
Good work on the wiring.
Its very easy to vastly improve the layout on a nova with just a bit of time, patience and a haynes manual!
Nice work Stu ;)
Nice lookin car mate, very good work coming alomg, wiched i'd hid my loom but ive got stupid skirts on mine so ill be leaving mine neat and clean
what is ur strut brace?
i had to sell my sparco as i could fit it with my XE lump in
is it worth me puttin the heat wrap on the manifold?
Good thread Martin - Should this be at PVS this year ? :)
Nice work on the loom, almost the same as where mine runs.
As for PVS, unfortunatly unlikely.Quote:

Today was the day, and off the Nova went to paint shop. I thought it would be there for a few weeks, but Ade will start on the car at about 06.00 tomorrow morning and by the end of the day he wants it painted!!
Just a few small jobs then i want doing so hopefully by mid week i may get it back!
Cant wait now for the call, then get the engine back from the builders and crack on agian.
Le-Mans in June in the Nova now looking a little more likely!
Martin
Cool :) Stu said it was going for paint last night - roll on the TB's!
Cool, even if you have said, is the hole car getting redone out side again as well as the bay?
Should be nice mate.
Scott
woop woop quick progress soon then
Sweet dude, Ade sounds like a top man.
Will you be at billing again?
Only engine bay mate.Quote:

Bloody hell, quick turn around!!!
Wanted it in & out as quick as possible as he has an RS500 Cossy to do next!
I had been pestering for a while so probably want me off his case!
Need to hurry the engine man up now as its still not been on the dyno for mapping!
Dude that looks great! He works very fast.
Looks good dude, let just hope it stays good, should do though as you did the prep to it.
Scott
It should as long as we dont scratch it putting engine back in!Quote:

Looks stunning martin. Really impressive as always.
Looks great, Ade's an awesome painter!
Right not much happened recently as i've been waiting for engine builder to dyno the engine then drop it off to be lifted onto its mounts.
To say i had a high then followed by a low was an understatment. The high being it managed 228bhp on Mr Toovey's dyno, the low founding out its not got the throttle bodies on i asked for.
Thats being sorted and the individual bodies pointing up so i can fit a filter or air box if required should soon be on.
Anyhow been today to where car is for a look and here are a few pics.

Unfortunatly now as its just over 3 weeks till i'am off to Le-Mans i've made the decision the Nova wont be going. Instead i will take my Golf GTI derv, which in one aspect wont be bad as i can sit back in the Recaro leather with the climate & a CD on instead of a numb ass, stinking of fuel in a noisy Nova!
Gutted though as was really looking forward to taking Nova on a road trip.
If anybody wants some brand new Jenvey twin bodies and inlet manifold, only run on dyno let me know!!
Martin
Looking amazing as always Martin. Great power as well, just a shame about the TB's been wrong. Bet you cannot wait now to get it on the road and see how it drives.
whats the spec of the motor matey? looks well in the bay:cool: :thumb:
head been match ported? just looks like the ex havent been opened up, due to the marks left from the gasket?
Its pretty mild spec.
It was built 4-5yrs back and just been re-opened up to check everything is still ok.
Put some new bearings in but everything else was sweet.
It has some mild Piper (if i remeber correctly) cams, pocketed pistons, bit of head work & thats about it.
Cheers
fair play matey. very good power then. only down the road from me too...well im in chester! lol
Looks great Martin, those TB's are silly close to the bulkhead, I'm guessing you wanted direct to head so they point up at an angle (like Marks (nick caro's old one)
Keith
He wants individual TB's not direct to head keith.Quote:

Luvly stuff as per mart. 230bhp never looked and im sure sounded so good
   NICE!!
Martin is moving to individual taper throttle bodies? Judging by what he has said.
