Who's is the one with the Irmscher lights ?
John D Haslam. MINTER! 1st euro-type nova, with single wiper, flushe aero cap, englemann mirrors, debadged etc etc etc and a really nice guy to boot! Knew him at Salford Uni, he was there when I was!

Those Irmscher wheels are very cool.Quote:

He hacked the arches and put 17" Venoms on it back in the day, then garaged it and AFAIK it's still there. . . .
Get him to drag it back out for some shows :)
Get him to sell it!
I found it. This is oldschool. 1995 feature.

It still looks really fresh. Anyone would think it was just built.
credit to his storage method.
What was the storage method ? Sounds technical
Well done Jon in getting it to Trax - You really should have cleaned the bird-s*it off the bonnet though lol :)
shove it in a garage and dont worry about it I think lolQuote:

What's the difference between Hockenheims and Hockenheim R's???
Is it just the shape of the spokes?
Hockenheim spokes are like a Y shape and the R's are straight iirc mate
Awesome to see this car out and about mate :D
I'm trying to source a set of Hocks phase 1. The face of the phase 1's were flat, the hock Rs had a lip. I cannot find a pic of the phase 1 at all, I'll see if i can scan one from the 1993 ripspeed catalog i have.
Hock Rs

Cheers!
Was the R's I always preferred. Sorry for the Off topic
The spokes of the 'R's are more open & gappy. They looked better when they were launched but harking back to old skool, the original Hockenheims just look ace.Quote:

I think they are the ones.
Those are on a par with teddy spinners imo
ronal teddys weren't spiners!, they should have been tho!
Well John, have you been tinkering over winter? Hope to see you at Billing this year, i'll be there with my keg!!
I remember seeing Mr Walsh's car in Max Power back in the day, think he'd had his one off exhaust fitted, a centre exit magnex jobbie.
Jesus all this reminising is making me wish i'd kept up my membership from when i originally joined in '99
K95 VHD and A5 NJC were my favourite Novas of all times, where i take my inspiration from, i saw A5 NJC driving through stavely/Mastin Moor near where i live many moons ago
great cars
ive driven a bus round the Nurburgring, but id be up for takin the nova when its finished
You should defo take the Nova to the ring, great fun :)

Jon, is the Nova going to re-appear at any shows in 2009 ? :)
Great to see this car again! I'm also one of those old enough to remember this from back in the day lol
you have spent a lot of time on that engine but well worth it is well nice
Any updates on this as yet ???

Awesome thread. I was buying Max Power before I was old enough to drive and this was one of the cars that got me interested in Novas.
I have this in my head: did the original iteration of the car have a sound system by 'Huets'?
Yes it did.Quote:
