Thanks for the comments, connected all the wires and hoses, broke the charge temp connector off:tard: Then put pressure to the rail and one of the top injector seals is pissing fuel. Bugger. Why in the world didn't I just order new seals:tard:
Good work, but bugger at the seals leaking.
Cheers Benn, autovaux let me down this week because the injector seals haven't arrived even after ordering them Tuesday. Engine won't be running this weekend.:(Quote:

Nice work jim looking forward to seeing the car again at P.V
Like the Carbon vent.
Spent a couple of hours tidying bits up and a little painting, I've started to assemble the rear disc beam, but had a change if plans in the inside face of the disc stoneguard, more modern cars have silver instead of the black so changed it to silver. See pic below;

Have ordered beam poly bushes from raldes and just need to confirm what left hand handbrake cable to get, I thought it was cavalier estate short cable, any confirm?
Its a mk2 Cav estate short. I use it and it's perfect. Mines locks on 3clicks.
I must spread the love, PS - is that left or right hand side?Quote:

Got the bleed nipple off the old drums ok but the main fixed pipe union snapped off on both sides so I'm gonna need the two fixed lines that are attached to the beam, doh!

Glad to see you on with some detailing Jeff! Its always the little things that make the whole thing come together in time. Have you lowered it some more? Looks much closer to the ground since last time I saw it....... much better :)
Nick.
I never seem to get much time for details but have been painting and storing bits up for a mass fitting session. So much of it is still ugly but the next rebuild will be anal, thanks in part to you, Keith and Benn.Quote:

I couldn't resist slamming it since I was under it.lol
It's still no where billing quality so it won't be making the trip.
Cheers for positive comments, jeff
Having a garage will help alot dude.
You can get the line make up if you can find a local motor factor that makes them. If not let me know and i can make you 2.
Cheers Benn, I'll check tomorrow, if not any chance you could make some and send them to me? I need these to get to pv!Quote:

Well, not touched this thread for whole but have kind of ignored the black one since Nick Jacksons old car arrived. To cut a long story short, after Putting it all back together then having to replace the injector o rings, I haven't managed to get it to start and run. I literally have spent hours under the bugger trying to figure out why, I never changed any major bits.
I was now faced with the last 30 days before the tax runs out and last weekend caused a major petrol leak but bending the fixed fuel pipe from the pump to the floorplan supply.
I've also had to rip the loom apart and replace the mini loom for the knock and icv.
I managed to find a plumbers that sells 8mm by the metre and replaced most of the fuel supply feed from the pump, the only bit I left was the bit clipped along the rear chassis leg as I could get to undo it.

After replacing the supply and refitting the fuel rail, she fired for the first time in four months. That's the last time I take bits off just to pretty them up as it caused more problems. Lol
She's a bit tappy but here's the proof I do have some skills, as the wife and kids told me to send it to a garage months ago as they think I was in over my head.

Both stunning mate. Love those vents on the black one.
That is a very good pic. Glad the black ones alive.
Thanks Steviegsi.
Cheers Benn, I was getting close to ripping the turbo out and sticking an xe in it tbh. I've still got to finish the brakes for the Mot and I'm seriously looking forward to driving it again. It also likely to end up back in the bodyshop for some repairs as it bubbling in places, I also snapped the grill when it rained and i slammed the boot while I was legging it.
Noooo if anything let the red one..lol Glad your getting it all sorted dude. Did you not swap the amazing lines i made you let? lol
Always nice when you turn the key and finally hear more than the starter motor laughing at you lol
Awesome pic too, but your parking sucks, one is in the middle of the road! lol
Dude! Time to move. Funk paying to park out side your own frigging house.
im glad the red one was saved from being broken, stunning car!
I actually feel very sad now :( you've two tip top Novas and I've nothing lol
Right, bit of an update.
This had been practically abandoned last summer as I got Nick's old car and had to mot, tax, insurance a forth motor completely unexpectedly. After stripping and repainting\polishing the inlet bits it developed a huge missfire after a few minutes and only ran with a perm live to the pump. Even that got progressively worse and I struggled to keep it running long enough to drive 6 miles to the MOT centre and back.I got an MOT taxed it and that was all. When I tried to take it out last weekend I Broke down before even pulling out of my road.
Last week I decided that enough was enough and I got under it, determined to find the fault or call Merris for tool advice.
The huge problem that has almost caused me to break or sell it was a £5 bit of hose from the tank to the pump, because the hoses has a fibre wrap over it I failed to notice a slight split but when I dropped the pump mount and tried to run it, it pumped pure air to the fuel rail.
Got the hose replaced and she runs like a beauty. I'm over the moon to say the least. During the head scratching over the fuel problem I managed to tread on the grill and snapped it and the NSF wing has bubbled badly.
Today I washed her and put some of the red stripe back on and we bonded again.
Only pics of her clean but bumping this thread indicates my intention to push on to bring her back up to her best.
