WIP Corsa budget track prep

Got myself a glassfibre bonnet becuase the old original one was rotten one the front edge. New one is not just a skin version one but a full moulded one so it has more strength in it. Plus it weights half as much so some more weight saving.

New bonnet on, painted it satin black, because i'd never get a good paint match with rattle cans.
Fitted some locking Aerocatches on the front.

After having my MOT done in April, the emissions were a nightmare to pass. Taking 15 minutes to settle done and get through the test.

Having spoken to him it was advised that the cat was shot.

so...

I bought a new cat but one for a X16XE so that I could finally upgrade the manifold, and bought a new Janspeed 4-2-1 manifold.

Then had to make a sleeve to join the new cat to existing exhaust system.

No pics of it fitted because I cant be bothered to crawl under the car again.lol

You can see the differences between the cats(lengths and location of bends) and the manifolds.
So you can see the ifferences between the C16XE and X16XE cats and manifolds.


Its made a good difference to the cars performance.
Its added to the midrange 3k-4.5kish and the way it gets to where the Mantzel works. Alot more smooother instead a step.

I did have to wait 6 weeks for it as Janspeed are a nightmare for pulling their finger out of their ar5e and doing some manufacturing.

Another update, been a long time coming.

I picked up some 2nd hand new unused Goodridge braided brake lines cheaper than the rrp a couple of months ago.
Well this weekend I finally got round to fitting them.

A pretty easy job to do really, just the offside rear one was a bitch for access and took twice as long to do as the other side. Got them all bled up with new fluid throughout aswell as the old fluid was black and smelt funky and had debris and **** in.

All in all, easy peasy job and the brakes feel much firmer now. Just got to wait till Combe to try them out in proper anger.
