Yes it hasnt been proven (thank the lord), however if you look at the show cage posted earlier in the thread, I cant see any mounting points on the rear and only small holes on the 'main hoop' to bolt it down. As for saying that you will only carry rear passengers now and then, that time you do carry some then it is sods law that it will happen.
If you are in a bad enough accident then either the cage will rip itself out of the floor and go banging round the car, or if it is mounted well enough and strong enough the main hoop will support the weight of the car however it wont balance very well and the front will drop to the floor but, the A-pillars and windscreen wont support the weight of the engine and car so it will crumple down to the scuttle panel where there is some strength. I personally wouldnt like to use my neck/head as a brace to stop the car flattening itself.
Do it properly or dont do it at all
A bit extreme but you can see how the car will shape itself around the cage which is fitted properly and designed to protect the drivers.

i heard about that crash at mull
i hear you brother, there is fixings in the rear, when it arrived i did think about welding thicker fixing plates and welding the centre of the main loop to make it one piece but too much hassle!Quote:

its welded in them pics and is now also bolted in.
Haha if you have to resort to trying to pick holes in my workmanship then fair enough but even if my cage had all he weld cut out and all the bolts removed it would STILL protect me more than a silly plastic fake cage!
cheap one yet link then some chrome paint lol
