It was a company contracted by DVLA I was mistaken. It was them that was not being co-operative. Turned out the Sorn was not on system or somthing and the proof of SORN, was shown and DVLA contacted, the clampers released the clamp.

i was going to ask if it was defo DVLA as those co contractors are a pain in the ass.
What would of happened if you just took a grinder to the clamp, put the car in the garage out the way and then just got rid of the clamp where no one could find it ?
Theyd just turn up knocking at your door and they wouldnt have any proof that youd done anything, you could just say the clamp went missing so you put the car away in the garage, and its your car and you can do what you want with it.

get in touch with them, just cos you didn't get a letter didn't mean they didn't send one. the first thing you may hear about it is when the summons comes thru your door, and its always to a court about 50 miles away so you'll not want to go to answer the chargesQuote:
