Connected all the coolant system up today, and it turns out my "new" rad from a migweb user, is f**ked and leaks. :roll:
So i fitted the one i got last night(which happens to be in better condition than the one i bought, lol), and that seems leak free.
Still need sort exhaust tho before i even dare to drive it :( And its currently pissing down :(
Glad the rad you had off me was ok, bit of a unknown that one as its been stashed under the work bench for quite a while.
Cars looking mint mate, be good to see it when it's done, as i said we'll have to sort a meet soon!! Need to get out and use my Nova when it's built!!

Got cracking trying to sort some form of exhaust system today, got the grinder on a old spi downpipe to make a temporary join between system and downpipe to get me to a garage.
You can see the problem, a few inch gap between the system and downpipe.

Drove the car, drives great :), even with the exhaust blowing terribly,Lol.
A big improvement on my old carbs, runs well/idles from cold and not a flat spot in sight.
Anyways, i drove it gently and went to a few local garages, all of them said they couldn't help, basically if its not a bolt on/bolt off jobbie they aren't interested :roll: So i ended up just getting it back home again, couldn't help but give it a little blast up the dual carriageway on the way home lol It pulls great.
Got home and found coolant sprayed all up the inner wing, I thought foook, the waterpumps leaking and its a cambelt off job. Started taking cambelt covers etc off, when i noticed it was just dripping from the thermstat cover, onto the alternator pully(hence it spraying everywhere) So luckily that was an easy fix :D
So im a little stuck as to what to do :( I guess i could grind the flanges off both the system and downpipe, and clamp a flexi pipe on, but thats the resale value of the system gone,Lol.
weld that off cut section to the rest of the system ;)
And if you have a few mini meets, i may tag along as its not far for me lol

From how far i drove, yeah it does seem better, ive yet to go above about 4k yet tho(which is when these engines seem to come alive apparently) lolQuote:
