Thanks for the heads up Joff. I havent cleaned off any of that bitumen like stuff you mention. On my tank it was all on the upper surface against the tank/underside of the floor pan.

Next little job is putting the metal fuel lines onto the floor pan & connecting various ends with hose clamps & lengths of rubber pipe. I need a new length of hose from the tank to pump though. GM only part IIRC.

No idea when it will be complete tbh. Hoping to step up a gear with the progress now (after new year). Obviously I dont want it being completed too close to shows etc for the sake of giving it a good shakedown & a few hundred miles under its belt before heading to the Nurburgring etc...
good update. showing true colours now..
