nova and the latest vehicle monterey (tow vehicle)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2..._5564109_n.jpg
overall the car was greatly recieved and people were astonished how quick it was going even spinning in the first 3 gears, a 500bhp sierra cosworth was my play friend for the day we had a good few laps chasing and following he was on full slicks which helped him alot (and the fact he can pedal fair play) on the straights the nova was pulling a good few car lengths, he would ctach me through the bends and off it would start again up the straight!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2..._5931613_n.jpg
managed to out accelerate a supercharged arial atom up to quarry :) also had a good blast with a radical though he couldnt loose me on the straights he soon pissed off once a corner arrivedbut was good fun
top speed i hit at avon rise was 141mph on the spa clocks, averaging 120-135 i just need to be braver the car has alot more potential... but it'll come
the nova did about 40-45 laps in total with the only issue a small hole in the bottom header tank hoses caused by the jubilee clip

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...5_946786_n.jpg
will foy also attended though he was to tight to pay £10 to be a passenger
i was concerned with regards oil temps and coolant temps rising after sustained use, but it was fine coolant temp didint go above 81degrees and the oil temps averaged around 97degrees after a 30 minute session
chareg temps where also superb averaging around 28-30degrees again constant over the 30 minute sessions
the car is now back in the garage and will be sorn'd in a few days and left to rest for the winter
the girl did me proud and the love for her is back better than ever. i was learning the car all day and by 2-3pm was really starting to press on but a red flag ended the session then the rain started so we decided not to chance our luck in the rain, so came home.
main thing is the car didnt break and is in one piece allways a good end to a day
Any vids?
have a few fly bys will recorded on my iphone nothing special though
Glad to hear its getting the use you built it for Gary...... sounds like your engine builder/mapper have done a top job for you. :)
Nick.
About time you got to use it how it's meant to be, and im glad that your Finlay happy with the car, and it's not let you down! sound like a top day, i really really need to get my car sorted, Ive got a few issues with it that need sorting before i take near a track again.
Pop the vids up.
Scott
yes matre dave young (mapper) pete burgess (engine builder) have worked wonders it didint use any oil, smoke or tap its a brilliant engine!!Quote:

Great write up. I reckon Will was too wuss to go out as passenger. £10 fee was the excuse he needed. LOL
Car sounds like an animal. Nova's like this one show other petrol heads what they are all about. Thankyou!
yeah he would rather stand at quarry on his own than pay and have hours of fun ............Quote:

And dude get some vids up, want to here it...
Scott
it is surprisingly good on fuel for such a big truck, very impressed its very comfortable as well, for the money i paid and the low mileage (100k) its a bargain will do me for a whileQuote:

Cossie chasing :) looks well planted coming around the corner aswell.
Love the flutter :d
it could be improved has no rear anti roll bar which is a something for the winter upgrades but goes wellQuote:

get on from the vid looked as if he only caught you up on the corner then couldnt get past you on the straight :)
Going to have to come and see this next year when your out on track
on the straight the nova had the edge pulling away as you can see coming into quarry but in the corners he was 1)braver 2) on full slicks 3) a better driver lollollollolQuote:

Is that normal gearbox oil? or something for the track?
its fully synthetic gearbox oil very good quality oil, it will give added protection when driving hard or on track
still the same grade as normal IIRC 85/90? (from what I remember)
Castrol SMX S 75w-85 Fully Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid
Cheers dude.
...and the award for maximum oil changes without driving a car goes to....
lol
the oil hasnt been changed since i did combe track day so its needed after 30-40laps, as for gearbox oil well for the price of it, i tend to do it as often as engine oil........:d :dQuote:
