Great work, but I think the interior looks more like an SR not a Sport item to me, Heater vents, Clock, Speak grils in the parcel shelf supports, centre consol, pockets on the door cards

The holes were for speaker wiring into the doors. I removed them and fitted blind gromets back in the day...Quote:

Good luck ;)
thangs again for all comments..
Interior may well be a SR item, but its close enough for me! I am a big sport fan but to be fair its never going to be original again, i will be putting alot of motorsport bits on it like braided hoses, 4 pots etc etc.. so i aint that bothered. atleast it will be a 'genuine' sport back on the road. Lucky i got this shell, other wise it could of been wasted!
If a complete sport interior comes up i might have it, but if not this will be going in.. Sort interiors seem to be going for crazy money, i offered vaughan £1000 for his interior and bumpers but he would not take this! Even after i bought the shell and engine for £800!! Alot of profit to be made i would say vaughan! never mind.
The sunroof hole has been annoying me, i have been tempted to put a roof skin on it, but i quite like novas with sunroofs. Again its never going to be 100% original but i just want to build a good clean sport and it is indeed a genuine sport! So NO roof skin it is!
I have been back at the Sport this afternoon, did a little bit more to the finishing touches on bodywork, really not far off finishing now..
I cleaned all the crap out of the inside, thats next on the cards! going to clean it all up and prime it, then i am going to somehow carefully put it on its side and get the underneath garvitex'd and then sprayed in Polar White. Once the underside has been painted i will drop it back down onto axle stands, paint the inside of the shell then mask that off and spray outside the shell and engine bay etc..
Going to give spraying a bash myself, i have done a fair bit of spraying, not an expert but i have done every single bit of work to this car myself so far, so i want to carry on and at the end i can say "i done that"! I think it would be great to be able to do all myself, and to be fair the next hardest thing is spraying it. I have done all the hardest i would say with the fabricaing and bodywork and i can honestly say its turned out pretty damn good so far!
Now some pics of inside of shell before i attack it -

i took out all bolts, clips and seatbelts etc just ready to get on with it the next time i get a chance..
its a credit to you that your doing it all yourself
i wouldnt worry too much about the Sport interior bits ATM, you have most of it and im sure you could sort the rest when its all back together
keep at it
Edd
Thanks mate, thats the way i am looking at it!
Good shout on the interior fella...When did you pay me £800 lol ? IIRC it was £400 shell and £200 engine
Just need all the blanks on the dash and you'll be sorted
Good work :thumb:
There was a bill in the history for the sunroof being fitted at the dealers. So albeit not as they were intend it is original to the car and its history. That if you still have it...?
Great work, it's all coming together nicely and looking a lot better than when i seen it last, amazing what a "little" bit of TLC can do...eh Vaughan!! ;)
Credit where credit is due though and i'm looking forward to seeing the finished article...:)
Little bit of TLC lol lol lol I'll crack the jokes
good progress as usual fella
