Only x14/16xes have internal amps. (4wires)
Xe's or Ecos dont and use external modules.
The ECO pack has a 4th pin, but it isnt used and is wired internally to the 3rd pin, so has no purpose.
no the ecotec coilpacks dont have amplifiers external! i ve used one on my nova, 1.2 16v corsa coilpacks also work well,Quote:

Internally amped coils have 4 wires...... And the coilpacks have a big heatsink on the back of them too :)
doh, running tommorow then?

XE/Eco coilpack (identical bar they are wired up differently), xe ones only have 3 pins though, xev have 4 but the 4th pin does nothing. :)

i ve run a ford coilpack also which is 3 wire, and internally amp'd
Ok lets leave it there then... lol
(BTW a 3pin coilpack cant be internally amp'd because its only got 3wires...)
BUT anyway, yeah should be running tomorrow :) :)
What map are you useing?
The one you sent me mate, dont have any more i can try do you??
Quick update anyway, today it RAN
For about 8seconds, then died and wont restart now. It seemed to run fine though, i made the mistake of easing off the throttle which made the revs die off!!!
But now it will not restart. So i think i definently have fuel and spark now anyway.
I have another issues now, after it died and when i tried restart i noticed the crank signal keeps dropping out to 0rpm!! So i think thats explaining why it wont fire back up. The rpm signal is going 220rpm,0rpm,216rpm,0rpm etc etc. Thinking it might just be down to the battery running low due to me cranking it so much!!
Heres a log file i got, you can clearly see the rpm keeps dropping, which cuts the injector output, hence it not starting.
