The ARP's certainly did there job then, good to hear the head survived :)
Not as bad as I thought it would look. Your not using that splash plate again though.
Why not it has some clearance on it now lol.
Itll probably do its job better now lol. Dont worry, im going to chop out the bad bits. Obviously it depends on wether the new engine I get has one or not, but Id rather run with a damaged one than none at all!Quote:

After RJ asked for a hand fitting his engine, i thought it would be extremely embarrasing not having mine re-fitted before his. lol
Many thanks Mr Dave for the new lump. Despite it looking like its been at the bottom of the sea for a few years, he assures me its a good runner, so i got busy fitting a new cambelt and rollers, swapping my oil cooler over, and the rocker cover (turned out the one on the car had the breather bod done anyway, but it was worth doing in case it didnt.)
Next job was mating it with the gearbox (uber tricky on your own lol)

Then the labourious task of raising the car up using my almost useless engine hoist

Then the usual badgering about trying to line up mounting holes. Takes a while when you've not got a helper, but after stripping a load of skin of my hands, and a little bit of swearage, got it all bolted up.

Takes next to no time plumbing everything back in when everythings to hand lol. All thats left are the shafts and the bodies (need an inlet gasket). SHould have it running when i go back up t'barn friday or saturday.
Top work :)
OOh, looking good sir ;)
