No, tax has run out and it's been absolutely hammering it down all day. Need to bed the clutch in a bit as well before I just nail it unfortunately.

Ah ok, hope its sorted the prob. Bedding the clutch in? Never heard of that before...
what the supplier told me to do and don't fancy taking any risks and having the gearbox off again or buying another clutch for that matter.Quote:

Oh right, best to do then.
The shed had assumed it's favourite position up on axle stands again today for a job I've been putting off for a while.
When I built it I fitted a pattern oil pump and am sure that is behind my continually reducing oil pressure. I found a genuine GM pump in my spares and have stripped and measured it and it's within tolerances so I decided to fit that. Also my sump is leaking so assume it has a crack in it so sourced another one of them for doing at the same time.
Stripped it all down today and needed a bit of persuasion with some pliers to get the cambelt backing plate past the chassis leg but the crappy autopumps pump is off now. Waiting for a crankshaft oil seal and cambelt to come in at Vauxhall to build it back up.
Took the big end caps off as well to see if the bearings were damaged and all are fine with the normal light surface scratching that cannot be felt. That has cheered me up somewhat.
REALLY looking forward to putting it back together lee,NOT haha :)
When it is back together you owe me a passenger ride with phase 2 ;)
lovely looking car. top work
Should see the chunk we took out of the paint on the chassis leg getting the cambelt backing plate off. Touch up required.Quote:

Cheers for your help again today even if you couldn't undo the E20 crank bolt :gay:
Feel i'm learning a lesson now. Buy cheap, buy twice. Seems that way with the clutches and oil pumps recently.
Cheers.Quote:
