Ordered the new platforms directly from Avo yesterday, dont know if theyve turned up yet though because i send all my post to my parents place lol
Cost £15.88 :)
Awesome service from AVO, ordered yesterday at 4pm, on the doorstep at 9am this morning!!!!
Two new platforms, with NYLON grub screws, i think someone mentioned the seizing problems to them previously lol :d

They are a newer design, and as such wouldnt fit on mine until i took a grinder to the top mount plate on the piston rod to take a mil or two off it!
No issue though, easy job.
Got the threads cleaned up and greased too, and they screwed right the way down to the bottom of the thread

Got the springs on, im trying the 7" 400lb springs, and having the platform wound up, see how they feel on a light rear end.....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8.../Photo0237.jpg
Just to show how toss Avos are if you want a decent drop, with the platforms just over half way down with these springs, ive got literally inch-2inch damper travel before they are bottomed out! Thats before they are fitted too.....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8.../Photo0238.jpg
So i'll set them to the height i want and see how much travel i have, with such stiff springs i cant see there being much "drop" in the spring when the cars weights on them. Hope they arent too stiff tho.
Also, got my new discs out the loft that ive had for 11months lol

Getting some M1144 pads for them too seeing as the brakes on the car atm are annihilated lol
That is all for now, Avos back on tomorrow and see how it sits :)
Oh, and to anyone with seized coilovers, just cut the platform off and fit new ones, so much easier tbh!!!
Nice work.
cheers benn
Yea get some pics up when there on ad.
I had this with my front ones after about 6 months, I too just cut them off and started again, I just covered them in mp grease and they were fine after that
what size disks do you run ad?
Ali-284 Fiat's mate.
Got the coilovers back on today.
Did the obligatory "i wonder how low it'll go" pics lol
This is as low as my avo's can physically go, sitting on the cut down bumpstops

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...d002Medium.jpg
The adjusters still have 2inches to go in those pics /\ Lol
This is the height id run it at if i still had enough damper travel, sits the car level, nice and low.
Wound them back up and settled with this height

Looks quite good imo :)
Compared to how it was sitting last weekend.....
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...0/IMGP3964.jpg
And a problem i really need to solve, hopefully when i get the internal shifter in i can mod and fit my Magnex system and get it sitting tight to the car. Current system sits stupidly low as it doesnt sit in the tunnel...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...d007Medium.jpg
So im going cut the front silencer out of the magnex system, and weld a straight tube where the original shifter currently sits..... And then join it to the SBD manifold. :)
Got a new thermostat too because the current one must be a bit fooked and is running the enigne too cold, temp barely gets out the blue!!!!!
That is all for now.
Nice one ad, still loving the retro colour!
Although not as low as i've seen some Avo's go - think Wilsons GSi.
