Update
More progress has been carried out with the nove, seems like im making some good head way with it recently. Which is always great stuff.
Got all my bits and pieces for my loom
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...3102010146.jpg
Got the loom back in place to find the best way of tidying it up
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...3102010147.jpg
Instead of using the normal clips to hold the loom down ( which I don’t know what ive done with them), I got these self adhesive squares that can have a cable tie attached to them. Do a top job and were cheap enough. Lined them all across the dash part of the loom, down the sill and across the back panel. Recovered the loom in new black conduit and tied it into place.

As I want to hide the engine bay loom as much as possible, I bored out a hole that goes into the inside of the wing. Had to make the hole quite big to get the plugs through. L Ill deal with the engine bay part of the loom another time. I will be removing the blue conduit so nobody worry.

Once I got all that done I moved onto getting the rear beam off, using my lovely new blue point jack, I got the nova up onto axle stands.

SEXY!!^^
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...3102010153.jpg
Got the beam off in minutes, awaiting to strip it down for powder coat and rebuild.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...3102010156.jpg
I got the beam to work and stripped it down, gave the drums a wire wheel along with the stub axles and bolts/clips etc.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...7102010170.jpg
To remove the bushes I firstly cut the ends off both sides, then got a large socket to sit on the outer part of beam and a smaller socket on the inside of the bush all attached to a threaded bar.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...6102010166.jpg
After lots of tightening and cringing about the bar bending and breaking I got the bushes out.
Bushless(always the best way :p )

Check out the washer and nut!
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...6102010169.jpg
I gave the bolts, stub axles and brake hose clips a coating of hammerite black to freshen them up.

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...0102010173.jpg
I also made up 4 small plates to weld onto the rear beam to strengthen it for the coilovers. didn’t take any pics of this but self explanatory. Just like so….

The beam, back plates, anti roll bar and my fuel tank are now at the powder coaters. I should see these back on Saturday, but as im working im unsure if I can collect them. No biggie.
The interior panels I made got some more attention too, fitted them back up and made the holes for the fir tree fixings to go into them.

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...0102010179.jpg
I bought some ¼ inch foam and some faux leather ( yes I know I should have rear stuff but its expensive!) to cover them which arrived last week, yay.
Cut the shape of the panel into the foam, them used spray adhesive to stick it to the panel.

After that I cut the leather to panel shape and used the spray adhesive again to stick that down, unfortunately I cant use staples in the back to hold it down as the wood is too thin. So far using the glue and numerous blocks of wood to fix the leather in place is working ok.

Hopefully the foam puffs back out a bit to remove finger marks.
Thanks for looking

Great work mate :thumb:
Looking nice, now this might be a bit late to do it, but can you somehow fix the "fur tree fixings onto the panel and then cover them, this way they would be totally hidden just like proper GM stuff is etc..
Good progress mate, oh any link to the jack??
Scott
tek, cheers buddy.
unfortunately scott ive just finished making the rest of the panels. :tard: im quite happy to leave it how they are for now, the faux leather was only 7quid so if i change my mind it wont cost the earth to do so. thanks for advice though.:thumb: one thing i am concerned about is that the hardboard is only 3mm thick, prising the fir trees out does bend the wood. doing this with the trees attached to the board over time, i imagine, would ruin the hole and the board.
i got the jack through my local snap on dealer, 105pound on offer. which isnt bad considering its low entry and lifts it as high as any normal jack (50cm) plus, if it goes wrong its repaired free.
update
as above, got all the rest of the panels covered with foam and the leather.

would be nice to start sorting the cage and rear brace out to be painted, ive still got to sort out the filler neck pipework. wont be able to do that untill ive got the tank back in and modyfied the original filler neck. shouldnt be long though.
bruce
Fair enough mate, as long your happy with them then.
They look nice though.
Scott
cheers scott, glad i did them like this to match the front leather cards. also a hell of alot cheaper than carbon fibre!!
