Seat rails will be made from 25mm x 25mm x 3mm box section (my pole only just fits in my garage, har har):

All 8 spreader plates weigh roughly 1kg:

And 2 seat rails weigh roughly 2kg:

So each seat rail setup will weigh approx 2.5kg. Each seat weighs approx 6.6kg. This is a combined weight of 9.1kg per side - a saving of nearly 6kg per seat over the original setup.
