Superb work, as always.
I've pm'd you again today lol lol lol.
Then i gave the welder a rest again and got on with raising the steering rack by around an inch
Out come the rack mounts, the black line in between the two mounting points is my reference line and lines up at the bottom of the top rack stud.

Then i tacked the rack mounts back in
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g.../engbay075.jpg
And used the reference point to make sure they are level and raised an inch

The original mounting point is were the ruler is in the pic below

Once i was happy with the position i made up some metal to fit in the holes and welded them in

Then the other side

I've still got the top part of the rack mount to finish and then tidy them up.
I then got on with cleaning up the N/S inner wing as i did with the front panel
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g.../engbay085.jpg
Then some more cleaning, sanding and priming on the O/S inner wing

Not a bad day all in all but loads still to do, at least i'm getting there with the engine bay perp! :D
Thanks bud and PM replied btw :thumb:Quote:

Cracking stuff as always. I've been ummi n arrin over doing the rack mod. I like the way you done it - makes it look easy!
Scary the front panel hole considering the condition of the rest of the shell, really makes you think.
nice work James.
Keep it up
If you lower the suspension the steering arms go from near level a la the very basic drawing (the red bit is the rack) - -- - too \ __ / Once the car has been lowered this can cause issues with geometry and bump steer so by moving the rack up i'm effectively going to be - -- - when the car is low and hopefully avoiding any such issues. ;)Quote:

I suppose it does make you think what might be lurking hiden away on even the leanest cars :(
