With reference to having a tubular manifold made, it isn't quite as simple as that, as tubular ones have a tendency to crack under the strain of the weight of a turbo, so need to be made from thicker gauge materials, and/or supplemented by a hanger/damper/crane of some sort, so the weight advantages aren't necessarily as great as you might hope.

I've thought of making a tubular manifold as ive got a spare 4 branch manifold here but could imagine profiling the 4 pipes into 1 and to a flange to be an absolute nightmare and funds don't really allow to have one made.

Fair enough mate. Wasnt having a dig at anyone was just putting the knowledge out there so you have an idea, rather than spending how ever much trying to weld an adaptor to a cast one and it ending with tears before bedtime

Probably, depends how much carbon is in the metal itself, more carbon = more brittle = moar cracking

I got some photos done today, I will try and get them posted up later on.

The adaptor flange for the turbo is bolted on, no welding involved.

Awesome stuff mate. That's good news to me if its bolted rather than welded.

That's awesome mate thanks very much for doing that. it gives me an idea of how it is possible to adapt one. Although your turbo doesn't have a standard 4 bolt fitting?
