It would be worth trailoring over for PV but then there is no reason why it shouldnt pass the MOT first time! so would only take 45 mins.

Yeah, you know me Ben, it'll be driven as much as possible.Quote:

Following on from some sound advice from my friend Gary, I've removed the heater matrix again, and ground the hole bigger, inserted a thick rubber gromit, and this should prevent the bulkhead chewing the pipe to shreds during any vibration that may occure. Well spotted Gary!! Thanks :D

I also used some spare paint to touch up the brake hose and fuel hose folded sections on the floor.
Still no sign of my Dash (posted last monday) If its not here by friday i'll have to get very worried indeed.
Keith
post s **** these days,i posted mad rick a tail gate handle first class.it took longer than a week,
A small update on behalf of Keith after speaking to him earlier these are what I've been of with for him during the past few days... enjoy these pics mate I will get them in the post soon!
What I started with.... A tired set of carbon panels with not the best finish!
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1206824851
So I got busy a prepared them for a bit of revamping.....
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1206825087
All prepared and lined up ready to go......
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1206825192
A few coats of sealer followed by a few coats of lacqeur and we have........

Im sure they'll look great with the interior you have planned! Nick.
Excellent work Nick, sure he will be chuffed
Great work, will look mint!
Damn fine work Nick.:thumb:
they look well good, what are the interior plans?
very nice
Ahh, nice one Nick, i have had my carbon panels i bought of Oli (DHdev) from few years back sat here gathering dust, they are going in the new track car, but i though how could i get them looking nice and new again, so if i just rub them down what type of sealer is used, then just normal spray lacquer?
(sorry to but into the tread Keith)
Scott
yeah what sealer? Just base coat binder?
Thanks chaps, I hope keith is as chuffed with them....
Scott + Yoza -I use a water based basecoat sealer before lacqeuring as the solvent resin in the carbon weave could possibly react with the solvent in the lacqeur, I have attempted just lacqeuring them in the past however It doesnt work as well and you end up going through the same process 3 or 4 times for the same finish! Which is a real pain as you can only air dry them it ends up taking forever! Any more qu's though please pm as I dont want to clutter up this lads thread etc, thanks, Nick.
Cheers Nick, really chuffed with how they've turned out! Your a star!!
With your previous history of receiving posted delicate items Keith - Please get them posted home wrapped carefully inbetween sheets of 1inch plyboard -just to be on the save side !!!!
Dave
lol!! The history aint great and isnt improving either. My dash is either lost in the post or suffolk flocking services are seriously messing me around too.Quote:

Keith, this is looking excellent, very inspiring.
I think this might get the "most viewed" post award lol
Update on Dash:
Flocked dash is lost in the post, Suffolk Flocking have fully refunded me which was very decent, and he's going to source another dash, flock it and post back FOC. I'm hopeing this happens very soon however as i'm in desperate need of it.
My new Distributor and Coil arrived today - Thanks to Autovaux!

I also got a Second hand dizzy from Jonlem to use the bracket and module from. Will get that all cleaned up and put together ASAP.
Engine is Mid Build at the moment, my builder was flat out and has only just got the time to sort it after the block problem about 15 pages back. Cant wait to get it back, fitted and finally running!
Keith
Nice work Keith !
Love the colour!! everything is going to be mint.. if it was mine i wouldnt want it to leave the garage! Nice work keith!
looking really really good.at least suffolk flocking seem to have very been reasonable with you.you'll have to get some pics up of the flocked dash up when you get it:cool:
good news on the dash and very good of suffolk flocking to do another
Be good to see the engine back and fitted :)
next year you will get a knock on the door and a bloke will be holding your '1'st' dash!
How the **** does a dash yet lost in post? if it were royal mail registered they should know exactly were it is, useless fukers!!!
Exactly what i was thinking tbh.
I mean its not going fall down and under the van drivers seat is it? lol
If they were nearer Keith - I have 2 Mk2 Grey dashes that I'm planning to throw away when I have a tidy up - They could of had them for nowt !!!
Dave
It's only about 250 miles Dave!! :cry:Quote:

Hummm sounds fishy to me... i reckon they had lost it in there place at work, or they forgot to post it and found it stuffed away some where, and then to keep you sweet there refunding you and posting it on to you late etc.
I might be wrong, but it just sounds a bit iffy loosing it in the post eh??
Scott
