Cheers gareth
ya big tart, welldone

I forgot to add all the rollcage bits were made on a floor with a cordless drill and a block of wood for a steady point so the quality might not be top notch lol
whats happening with were you've cut through to the turrets, like in the bulk?
like the oil tank idea gigga
Theyre not triangulated?
To the turrets
Yeh just welding the straight bar to the turret wont do anything. The triangulation is the bit thatll give the strength. If u imagine the forces at the turrets are trying to go up and back. The straight bar wont stop that movement, whereas if youve got a tie from the front leg coming up the turret bar it will stop any movement. If that makes sense?
iiii aaammmm iron mannn dar da dar da darr darrr darr
you spin me rite round baby rite round, like a record baby rite round round round
gareth man, fingers out. not long now x
I thought it was about time this was brought upto date I will add pics when I can. the engine bay is painted all the interior is back in and the body work is being done as we speak, hopefully the outside will be coloured in this weekend and polished ready for pvs next week im going to start sorting the insurance etc shortly aswel.
Welding a straight bar to the turret WILL do something, in fact quite a lot more than it not being there at all, BUT not as well as one triangulated.
Gareth you could put that oil tank anywhere you want in the car, if this truly is being built for corners then I'ud think about that.
Cheers mate I put it there for convenience but I will look into moving stuff around to shift the weight

Just an update for anybody that noticed. On my 3rd run at pv on sat the main oil feed pressure line split while I was proceeding up the track at over 7500rpm, chucking oil everywhere.
I've stripped the sump off today and Found one set of knackered slipper rods & shells luckily that seems to be the only damage sustained so I think I've got off lightly. So I'll be getting the engine out to do the repairs and get stuff checked out aswell.
Sounds expensive Gareth but fair play for getting straight on fixing it
