thats it for now i have actualy done a hell of alot more that what you may realise or what seems obvious but its all been little bits like welding seems closing gaps and patching all the little holes that vauxhall for some reason deemed fit to put in the pannels but its all stuff thats needs doing and takes ages fabing and shaping plates ect but is hardly noticable so i didnt deem it worthy of pics
coming on realy well now mate cant wait for the next instalment
Good to see more progress Ste, i think at this point the thread is as much for your benefit as it is ours, but, every little more, is a little less needed to finish it off:d
Oh and text me ya bawbag:p
im hoping to have it blasted final fab done and in epoxy primer before pvs ready to start the body work
Well that just answer my question, was going to ask why had not been applying primer along the way etc, as i thought thats allot of blasting to do after, but seams your going at from the right angle mate, it's interesting to watch as i have questions about it but don't really want to ask them lol just know if i watch and wait you'll answer them. :thumb:Quote:

Oh OK then..
Firstly have you nay idea how much weight you may have added/lost to the shell from a standard nova caged etc?
And i want to know if you have placed the front foot wells in the same place as OEM one's or are they closer back into the cabin etc?
Whats you plan for the foot peddles, any ideas yet, try reuse OEM or go for some custom setup?
And my final one for today is, as you have shortened the inner wings with you semi'space framed front end are planning a upper cross/slam?
And how will the wings be fitted and kept in place near the front part where the space from pipe is?
I just see these thing and think, humm i wonder how etc, but think well maybe your still not sure yet your self, or i just wait to see what you do i guess. lol
(please don't regard any of my questions as negative, there all just things i see and think how do you??)
Scott
Tell him to wait and see Ste! :p
good questions mateQuote:

2.The bulk head is about 10mm further back but its a different shape to standard reason beeing is to mate up to my required shell tie in points no other reason.
3. oem peddles are well out the window mate so it is and always has been my intention from day one to use floor mounted peddle box with remote res and convert to hydraulic clutch
4.the front end is a little more complicated and hard to exsplain but basicly the wings bumper grill ect will be bolted together on a tubular skelington so to speak and held together with dezus fastners. The skellington will be held to the car by various brackets ect from lower cross member ect out the way and ultimatly the plan is to end up with a normal opening bonnet but a fully removable front end if that makes sense aswell as the added bonus of beeing able to quickly remove individual panels for quick easy access. Theres more to it but all will become obvious when i get there but it will basicly have a lift off (or flip front havent decided yet) front end with the ability to remove pannels individual. The front cross member is not beeing replaced what you see now is the basic outlines of the finished forward chassis but i do mean rought outline
hope that helps although i do feel i havent explained 4 very well but its hard to explaine and english lit isnt my strong point
pmsl was already typing lolQuote:

I like the cage.
Will you be adding a brace at the front just before the turrets?
yes mate when i get hold of some more tube but i havent decided if i should go diagnaly from turret to front leg of the cage or turret to center of dash bar (not fitted yet)?
I would have it like this, but might be a bit ott?

Love it, practically finished! lol
unlike yours lol
Hey Ste,
great work as normal.
but the tube for the rollcage have seems in them. doesnt this mean if you ever wanna race the car that it will be extra hassle to replace the cage...
Coming on nicely now Ste brilliant progress, you appear to have welded Claire in there though lol

And just watch it rapidly turn to fear when she goes out in it :d
Cheers for taking the time to replay mate, the first few questions are answered quite as i was expecting so no more questions there.Quote:

Scott
lmao i've told him repeatedly i am not going out in it lol when he asked why he got offended when i replied 'because you built it' lolQuote:
