Good old Mk2 seam sealer hiding the rot :(
Thats not good, will you just put a repair patch in or a new inner wing?
-
Can't find inner wings at the moment... So best thing to do is the repair it, but the inner wings to front side members also shows signs of rust on both sides...
-
Sure some welding can sort that out... doesn't look good though :(
-
Passed MOT today!!!
Well passed APK (MOT) this morning!! I now have exactly one year to sort out the rust. @ Count Vaux Alot you want to show us your fabrication skills on a LHD any time soon?? :d
-
Mine passed the APK (MOT) too with a hole like that behind the suspension turret ;)

Good thing Jurgen! And good to see you registered on here!

UK road trip #3
Friday morning Niek_Nova and myself packed the car for our UK road trip. The Skoda was packed till the roof with panels and small parts.
We had:
1 x Full Nova roof skin
1 x Full Nova Mk2 rear quarter
1 x Nova tail gate
1 x Nova Mk2 LH front wing
1 x Nova MK2 RH front wing
3 x Nova MK1 RH front wing
1 x Cav front wing
1 x Cav rear quarter
1 x Cav rear plate
And some small parts... :eek::eek:
First stop was Clais to board the Eurotunnel at 11:20 CET.
We dropped off parts at Rich, Graeme (who had a very mint Magnex back box for me), Dayle and after arriving at our B&B near Donnie around 22:40PM on Friday night Tahir was waiting for us to pick up his Cav parts. We found out the bar was closed due to a private party and headed back to the room for a good night sleep, two separate beds before you guys ask! lol
Saturday morning 07:30 AM I got a call from Allan and Iain that they had arrived to pick up their parts. After a good chat we went for brekkie and headed to Stu to pick up a GSi bumper and have a closer look at his GSi before it was collected.
All I can say it that the pics don't do justice to Stu's car, what an immaculate example!
Made a very good deal on some (well a lot of) parts that Stu wanted to part with, mostly new parts and OEM, I'm a sucker for that as you know!
We left Stu so he could waive his GSi goodbye in private and headed back down south to catch the return train, unfortunately there wasn't enough time to drop by Joff for a cup of tea and some catching up after more then 10 years. But we'll bring over some Belgium beer for you and catch up at Billing mate!
On our way down we met Martin for whom I picked up a roof skin at OCP. Took the 18:20 train back to the continent and we arrived back at my place at 23:45 PM after exactly 1609km lollollol

Niek then only had to drive up to Lelystad himself thats an extra 100 miles...
I had a lot of fun and Niek enjoyed himself as my private navigator/assistent/Tesco finder/Marmite king/etc...
I'll update tonight with the parts I got for my project...
