Cracked on with the side polycarbs.
Original window out, 2min job.

I then realised why they were being difficult to remove, it seems the early chrome window surrounds have a bonding strip around the window hole. My mk2 ones didnt have this

Winter has taken its toll on the painted bits! Rocker cover etc has all oxidised and lifted the paint, oh well :(

Might need bring a 12v heater with me, for some reason these polycarbs seem to steam up a lot quicker than glass, and the cars heaters are pap and dont really help to clear the windows!!!!! Not what you want on track.

Yeah the polys do steam up a bit more but I found they eventually clear if you leave the heaters on.

Yes but thats if you have working heaters lol lol

My heaters work but ive got none of the venting/ducting behind the dash.
So i just sort of get warm air blowing around the inside of the dashboard... lol


Im getting an urge to try some GTE bumpers on it too,hmmm

Obvious solution is to ditch the dash, win win!

I was tempted just cut the passenger side off it today because i got annoyed at it after tw***ing my head on it when trying reconnect the vent/temp control cables

Couldnt find my hacksaw though :(

Dont think id ever remove the whole thing though, will look messy IMO

My window surrounds and any others I've seen had this strip, I've never taken any out of a car though, so obviously it was all non sticky, I thought it was just a one sided bond to the surrounds tbh.

noo keep the one-piece early bumpers :-)

Think it would look nice with gte bumpers.

I agree on GTE bumpers, look how much better Andy_017's car looks with them on.

Im definently going try some on, just to see what it looks like. Might look a bit strange with there never being a sr/gte in my cars colour......
