whats the story behind the motorsport spec gaffa tape on the perspex?

lol the polycarbonate window kept dropping down after impact, so we had to tape it up by wrapping tape through the square hole, and then up and over the door.

but it was cold wet and windy on the way home, and Michelle wanted the window shut lol
