Im glad you like :)
Cracked on sorting the sump gasket too.
Everything came apart easily, its sooo nice working on a car that hardly gets used! lol Everything just undoes and isnt rusty lol
Got the sump off, oil change was definently due.

Pickup pipe off

And was then greeted with this, oh noeeesss lol
How i had any oil pressure i dont know, there was literally 90% of the pickup filter blocked with silicone. It was 100% clear when i built the engine up,so no silicone will be going near the sump gasket this time round!
Loads of the s**t

Sump looking all clean after a quick wipe

And the "refurbed" pickup pipe lol

All ready to go back together now, just need some m6 washers for the bolts. Got a 8v gasket/baffle going on!!! :) :)
so you used black silicone to seal the sump, like it says you should and it all got into the engine..?!
a 2.0 8v old skool sump gasket this time..? - but they always leak a bit..
Yeah, i used silicone sealent on the baffle plate/gaskets... Obviously its squeezed on inside the sump, fell into the oil and then made its way into the pickup pipe filter.
Yeah using a 8v rubber gasket, not using any silicone
Good lad, looks just like mine was mate lol
All back together now, used no sealent at all!!! Hopefully it dont leak, it seems a much better seal than the 2 old cork gasket setup provided.
Leaving it for a few days before putting any oil in.
Now just need to work out wtf to do about the exhaust
Don't bother with one, sounded cool when we fired it up without.
Lol, that was class!
Started on 1st turn of the key, EVER
All's alive and well again.
Got it filled up with some 5/30 oil,a bit thin but should be ok. Not the best if a leak develops tho! lol lol
Had it running for about 20mins, and the bottom of the sump/engine is dry, lets hope it stays like that
Started up 1st go after been sat for about a month too. Good oil pressure, light straight out!
Ive refitted my old exhaust system for now, all being well im hoping have a run down to Shakespeare raceway this weekend..... :)
Going get some use out of it before the tax runs out, and then i'll probably break it ;)
