Benn's on going build

Good idea Benn - but I do think your over-engineering a simple fix

Simply take your strut top mounts off - and replace the upward facing bolts with longer ones - I can't remember if they are just tack welded in or a simple splined bolt (a bit like some wheel stud) that would knock out

I did wonder about the roof ripples, sure Nick fixed them on his.. And i know they weren't there when it was first painted.

The the brace will have bigger hole for the collar of the bolt to sit thru, the flat on the top then sits on the base of the brace and pulls it down tight.

I am yes, but at the mo it saves taking the car to bit (or any more) grinding off the old ones and getting longer ones in and to be in tighter. Plus i killed my welded so i could tack them in.

Rick did say it, it is my other plan if these dont work. Altho i haven't spend any time doing them ass dads done it all.

These are exactly where I had my very little roof skin ripples / dents (you'd have seen it in my project thread), noticable but only to someone looking for one.

Oh right. How odd.

Non sunroof models seem to be worse for this as there's more flex in the roof skin. One thing I have thought is if this is true, and they tend to dent in the same place quite often, it may not be such a good idea to fill the dent as it may flex again in the same place and crack the filler. Quite unlikely really but just a thought. X

I've just been thinking the say, looking for a pic of Nicks to see where his where... I dont want any cracking.

They all dent in the same place Ben. My gsi had dents in the roof in the same place. Pritty much every nova I've seen has the same dents.

nice motor pal !! have is seen this motor floating around by portsmouth before? i also thinki have seen it in fareham / gosport? just wondering pal :thumb: top stuff !!
