Keiths Nova Turbo build

With the shell away, it was time to finally sort out all the bits I removed. The crank oil seal was leaking so essentially everything underneath the car was covered in oil.


Engine on the stand, degreased / steam washed:

I'll repaint the block and replace the crank oil seal, sump gasket and replace the timing belt before going for mapping.

My girlfriend kindly helped all day, sorting things into boxes and bubble wrapping things like the doors:

Will gather bits for powder coating now, repaint the fuel tank, gearbox and generally get everything sorted for refitting next year when the shell is painted.

You should fit steel rods in the engine while its out incase you fancy more power in future

Just from seeing the pic. Remember flywheel bolts are stretch bolts and need replacing.

Theres 3 layers on the panel at the top and there was corrosion inbetween. Easier to just replace the lower section.

Not much progress, Christmas eating up all the funds :(

Should have the shell back from welding in January, then I can finish cleaning off all the underseal, ready for a fresh coat. Then it'll be off for paint :D

What welding? Did i miss that?

New underseal too? Is that just incase? Cant be much wrong with what you have surley?
