you not done the engine yet - your slacking :p lol
only joking, keep up the good work fella
I know yeah, nearly getting as bad as you! :p lol lol
i got an excuse though :p
love it :)
one thing i'd personally do, is remove the centre caps from the wheels... looks a little odd without a badge, and no caps looks more motorsport
are we still on for fitting the XE before Combe on Saturday mate?
Skirts look great on it dude, more bolts posted.
What have you done the breather mod?
Lack of punctuation makes this sentence make no sense?Quote:

Might remove the caps for Combe to make it look more hardcore  lol
Benn-Cheers mate, hopefully these bolts will turn up.
Olly-Xe fitment before combe is off im afraid, dont have time sort all the bits i need :( Oh well, looks like im stuck with the small block then lol
Needed 4 new tyres after Donny in July, so decided try some Kumho's.
Ordered 4 KU31 195/45 tyres(which have a pretty much identical tread pattern to Hankooks RS2 track tyres), from MyTyres last week, but they only had two in stock, which arrived today. So it looks like i shall have new front tyres only,Lol.
They are getting fitted tomorrow, as i want a few miles to try and wear them in before Combe.

Compare the tread pattern to the RS2's

Quite similar, so im hoping they'll be ok at Combe :)
Looking good Ad :thumb:
Did you get my text?
Yes mate, sorry. Only just got my phone out my bag from work.
I was thinking of getting to Combe for about 8-9am?
What do you recon?
i had them Khumo's on my old valver - not too bad for cheap tyres really...
grippy in the dry, okish in the wet
Yeh ive had them aswell
I was very impressed
Just what i wanted with Combe coming up(and the 150mile drive each way) :(

Just found it, biiiggggg res :D
ad what suspension do you have?
Errm, Avo front coilovers, 275lb springs, dampers set fully soft
Avo rear dampers, set mid way, 60mil rear springs, std poundage rate.
Why?
As the weather was so good today, i cracked on with the build.

Head on and torqued up. Stuck a bit of oil down the spark plug holes into the bores, to hopefully stop them rusting. Engine will be sitting for a while yet.

Inlet done black, injectors/tb/rail cleaned. Needs a set of jenveys on there, but oh well lol

Exhaust manifold test fit, i wanted to see how far it "stuck out" past the sump, as i dont know how best to join it to my exhaust system yet.
Its not a std manifold i dont think, looks like a SBD type A

Manifold will be heat wrapped black before fitting it properly.
Just waiting for cambelt kit, and waterpump to arrive, then i can get the cams etc back in
Cam cover and cambelt cover will probably be going red or blue.
Also got a flat fly off Lee H, but no clutch. And have been properly f**ked about by people selling "Flat fly 20xe clutch kits", which arrive and there for a pot fly  (i have 3 pot fly kits now)
So im tempted f**k swapping the fly and just leaving it as is with a new clutch.
Dude i can get clutches quite cheap...
Did ya eat ya sweets? lol Engines look good!
Oh yes, those haribo were tasty
Much we talking for a early 20xe clutch?? pm me if you want
nice work...
how you need another manfold, if you got that one?
Was wanting it just as a spare mate, and for the lambda. I think John said he had a lambda i could have though so may give him a pm.
Have you been round get that manifold from your parents/garage? If so i'll come collect it as planned save you having to piss about taking it back etc. :)
been collected, but was gonna go back anyway, only wasn't at my garage, due to having to empty it all, while it had a new roof on..
if you dont need it anymore, no worries, give's me a spare lamba then lol
Ok mate, fair do's.
Cheers for the offer anyway, appreciated :)
looking good Ad, altho a bit disgruntled to hear that the engine will be sat for a while :(
was hoping you to be joining me at Cadwell in October, or at least Donington in November!
Sure he will olly..
Olly-I want the engine in and running before november, as i want to do that Donny track day :)
Sat for a while, im talking weeks, not months/years lol
Got home from work today and fitted my 6k bi-xenon HID kit i got off Xeno on here.
Took about an hour fit, works awesomely. The lights are bright even in full daylight, cant wait test them out tonight
Just make sure you get the fully lined up.
Did you have to cut the rubber covers bits to fit them?
Aye, will need them aligning.
Ive not got the covers on at the minute, will need to cut the middle bits out to fit them though yeah. Was tempted just leave them off, but will get damp etc in the lamp
Cheers Olly
Will keep that in mind :)
Yeah damp will get it, just trim them back so thy are tight. its what i did.
looking good still ad, how did you find your khumos?
They were/are great mate, reduced the understeer a load and gripped very well
Amazing difference from my old nankangs.
Im going get two more for the rear.
Tested the HIDs this morning, the light from them is awesome  In front of the car is like daylight, and road signs etc reflect miles more than std halogen bulbs.
I can see why there illegal though, you can see that parts of the light beam scatters to the side of the car, so could blind someone on the opposite side of the road.
Still, very worthwhile though and there staying on. Going get the beam re-aligned :)
not bad tyres for the price are they, them khumo's ;)
Nope, id buy them again 100000%
