he has bought a rather nice motor.
on topic... the nova is looking perfecto!!
looking good mate. it gets better every time i look at this.
Inside the oil or coolant system yes, but in the inlet surely it would just get burnt to http://www.gaycork.com/forum/images/...s_smithers.gif ?Quote:

I'd bet it wont come off tbh but no way I'd take the risk I dont think.
I've had 2 plenums for a GSi powder coated, One I had to clean out because shot got inside it (definate NO NO) & another the bung came out from the inlet runner during coating.
if parts of it where to flake off, it could score the bores and so on.Quote:

Looking brilliant Keith, some really nice progress coming along.
a mate of mine had a cam cover powder coated inside and out and all the powder coat flaked off inside and totaly nackered his let motor
same thing happended to lee hQuote:

Same thing happened to Rick Draper as well I think!!
Your rocker cover Lee? Yeah i've heard terrible simaliar storys with cam covers. Thankfully mine was acid dipped along with the shell then just painted on the outside.
The inlet will be sealed off, blasted then cleaned out before use.
Keith
Yeah cam cover/rocker cover. Mine was painted this time, didn't want to fork out for another engine build.
looking good keith, certainly raising the bar on nova rebuilds!
Not to insult anyones intelligence but I feel you'd (not you Keith) have to be pretty clueless to fit any engine parts with traces of shot or powder coat looming inside.
No one had to tell me the consequences, yet I spent hours flushing out an inlet I blasted years ago.
Mine looked spotless but apparantly the shot blasting embeds itself into the cover and depsite however much you clean it traces will be released wehen the cover gets red hot on the engine.
I would never put anything on my engine that didn't look spotless.
WOW! i bet you can't wait to drive it lol
Placed an order with http://www.chrisastleymotorsport.com for:
Nova C20LET breather hose kit
Nova C20LET ancillary hose kit
Nova C20LET turbo coolant hose kit
Nova C20LET coolant hose kit
C20LET High flow fuel pump
Engine is still going to be another month or so, but i'll have everything ready to fit it and having it running before then.
Keith
^^^^ i dont suppose he knocked the price down for ordering all the hose kits did he?
Chris looked after me as i've ordered a fair bit from him in the past, and will continue to use him for all the parts I need.Quote:

However i've taken this time to save hard and order all the parts needed to finish the car.
Bits that have arrived:
-New Altenator
-Full set of Chris Astley Motorsport (roose) hoses (all 4 kits!!)
-Got a custom braided oil feed made for the turbo.
-FSE (Walbro) fuel pump
And bits on order:
-Carbon door cards from rick, being relaquered by Nick.
-Flocked dash by Suffock Flocking Services
-Speedline Allesio 2's with 195 40 16 Toyo's
-Suspension kit.
So once all that arrives, and I get the engine back, it will only be small things needed to finish the car, things like completeing brakes, fuel lines, and the final large thing will be an interior retrim.
Photobucket is down at the moment, so no pics yet L(
Keith
PM'D Keith.
Matt..
Keith are you stripping it out? Just wondering why you are going for carbon door cards?
Carbon door cards with the mk2 handles and pockets flocked. And then an alcantara retrim.
