You got carbon rear quarters for it?
That's a thought no I don't. Everything except roof and quarters. Quarters are fibreglass. I may paint the outside a different colour but keep it red inside.
Imo, rear quarters would have to be black, to match the carbon doors and wings
Yeah been thinking that myself Edd. Prob go with metallic or something.
Bit more done on the back end. Starting to take shape! Just got suspension bits in but nothing's in place properly yet.

You sort choice of topmounts in the end then?
Rear cradle looks good, with using the nova hubs on the back, will you ad in extra support ?( as in like steering movement as you'll only have one side held in place with the std steering arm mount..)
I think the plan is just to mount it off steering arm and wrap the lower arms in steel to add strength there aswell but seen this today when was in speaking to the fabricator and looks well weight has been kept ryt down with light materials used and I'd imagine would be one the best 4x4 Novas about some really good work went into this
Looking very good Baz ;)
That's fantastic!
No, no idea what they are tbh must be something he found in his parts bin just for setting it up lol
Cheers, no idea tbh I barley spoke to him yesterday but mark had a chat with him yesterday about it as he said so will prob be what he said lol
cheers Mark, I've not had much of a chance to speak to him about that side of things yet I'll see what's what next week or something.
Thanks, finally getting somewhere.
cheers, hopefully have the tubs and floor in soon then I can get it home!
A few more pics. Rear cross is in and cradle is finished. Everything has to be fully welded up now then get the rear suspension built up properly then the floor and tubs can go in.

Shouldn't you have hung the diff and shafts in to get everything in place before welding it all up? To get everything lined up and that?
It was. Pics are a page or 2 back with it all in place.
Ah, my fault for not back tracking enough. Sorry.
Looks great Baz! Some solid, quick progress happening on this now! :)
This thing's gonna be epic.
With this pic, is it gonna be boxed off at an angle to create more strength?

Ha ha it's all good :)
cheers, it's getting there bit by bit. Nuts and bolts for suspension is what's holding me up at the moment.
Thanks :)
yeah, the bit that has "fold" on it will go behind it against the tunnel and another piece will we welded onto the front side of it. Not been done yet as the whole cage can still come out the car in 1 piece just now!
Getting an e type body shell now? Nice
Dude!!! Fuck the nova shell that's an awesome buggy lol
Looking great, is it nearly at a stage where you can start putting it back together?
Are you using front hubs on the back?
aye lol squeezing the cage in there lol
Aye maybe I should considering it rather than fucking about with a nova lol
Cheers :) it's getting there. Finishing off the suspension bits etc easier to do it with the cage out the car. Once that's done and cage welded into the car properly the floor will be next to go in :)
Yeah I sure am. Front hubs and front suspension.
Looking good Barry, all you really need are a few fibreglass/carbon panels to make it look like a Nova lol!
Might be worth speaking to chip (if you know him)
he used to run nova front legs on the back of his mid engined nova but suffered with horrendous bump steer issues, he swapped to mk4 astra hubs and that reduced it a great deal as the steering arm was a lot closer plane to the lower wishbone
Aye cheers :) a complete fibreglass/ carbon shell would be nice lol
Nah I don't know him, it's just the hubs and strut I'm using off the front all the arms etc all be fabricated with rose joints to suit and hopefully will do the job nicely. Time will tell I suppose. Cheers.
How are you connecting the steering arms to the car, if they are at a different arc to the lower arm then you will introduce unwanted bump steer,
ive tried to find the link to his project but for some reason obsessive performance disorder forum seems to be down!
Chip doesn't use Png but I'll point him this way for his input, as you might as well benefit from others mistakes and research!
Very cool seeing the frame out the car like that eh? But, umm, how did you get it all out on yours? You still have the floor in there! lol
I guess tagging it to the chassis is the next step...
I think he's making up a bracket off the cradle for it. Yeah why not cheers.
Yeah it's shit hot seeing it like that! Haha there's no floor or anything in the back so it just pulls out the back of the car :)
Yeah will be welded in place next I think, and finally should see it going back together!
please please after all this effort dont use a front setup in the rear,
its such a crap way of doing it, even the original calibra beam is better than using the front gear in the rear.
It's only the front hubs I'm using. I don't see the issue? All arms etc are being made to suit. Not really sure what else i could use either.
So long as the track control arms are made correctly there shouldn't be a problem
Mazda MX5 uprights?
Yeah I'll wait and see how it is when it's on the road. I'm happy with how it's turned out so far.
A few pics from today. Cage is welded to the car now also.
