Yeah mate, id put money on the fact that yours are sitting on the bump stops(hence youve got no suspension movement=bumpy ride lol)Quote:

Had a look at mine earlier on, and id guestimate my shocks can come down at least another 2-3inches before bottoming out. So shorter springs will sort mine.
Going order them from Rally Design in a bit, but cant decide on 7" length, or 6" (probably going for the same 250 poundage rate as it feels fine)
Mike-Probably keeping them TBH, never know when they might come in handy.
@rse, im after some front ones :( not fancy a swap for mine and cash your way lol (even though mine have only done 6k miles)Quote:

I hope it dont rain :(

lol
no :p
Will be looking at the sky through the windscreen lol
Right, did Donington yesterday, and to make it look a bit more hard core, i found my hole saw and std mk2 bumper, and the result =

Car went superb throughout the track day, must of been out on track for about 2 hours in total, and never missed a beat.
Had a few people asking about what engine/brakes i was running too :D
In Car Vids:

Also at Donny i picked up some 7" 250lb coilover springs off Nathan(cheers mate)
So set out fitting them today.
Coilover removed and in bits(again)

Old spring left, new right
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1059Medium.jpg
Refitted the strut, and the ride height is now just what i want.
This is with the spring platform wound up to about 1-2" off the bottom

Compared to the old springs fully down
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1057Medium.jpg
So im well pleased with that result, can go lower but i want to keep some damper travel, so i'll leave them at that.
The shorter springs also means i no longer need wheel spacers
Thats all for now.
Quick update.
If youve not seen, i picked up a xe the other week.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1088Medium.jpg
So have been stripping that down this weekend ready for rebuild.
All de-greased/cleaned, and up on stand
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1105Medium.jpg
Cam cover off, ready to undo headbolts
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1107Medium.jpg
Head off, and we have 4 pistons which is cool :D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1108Medium.jpg
Head looks ok, running a bit on the rich side though
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1114Medium.jpg
Thats all for now, will be ordering new gaskets/cambelt etc etc this week.
Valves will be coming out for re-lapping,and i will probably do a quick smoothing job on the ports whilst there out.
woo woot ; going well :-)
still a shame with the c20xe - the baby 1.6 doing you so proud at the mo.
Just messin...
lol
Saying that, the 1600 will probably die tomorrow now lol
bigest engines bigest power . whell done my frand
i am tuning a x20xev to work wit turbo , what pistins do i nead?
good progress ad lad , give us a hand if you need a lift fitting XE :thumb:
Cheers Carl :)
wow not been around much lately , going big block what brought this on adz ?
After doing some track action, realised i wanted more power, to improve the 1600 further would cost £500+, so bought a xe lol
Ive got a sbd type A exhaust manifold to fit it,and my 2.25" system, so hopefully the xe should make around 160hp, and a lot more torque than the 1600 :)
a had a btb on my white nova xe i lost power useing it .
i was told there only any good with t/b .
how much of this is true i dont know :(
i think there very much alike i may be wrong
He hit his head a bit hard the other day and hasn't been right since :p 'just messing (ish)Quote:

The Type A manifiold is designed for the std engine, and for "fast road" use.Quote:

Ash-Dont worry, you'll be next to go BB ;) lol
Have you got the bolts dude?
It's BTB that supply SBD but the designs are different. The normal BTB one is a motorsport manifold, the primaries are way too big for a fairly standard xeQuote:

whens this going in?
Heyup Lew, good to see you still about on here.
No idea when its going in tbh, got some bits to buy, and the engine to build back up. And then will probably need book a few days/a week off work to fit the engine.
Hopefully as soon as i can get time off work, and as soon as the engines built back up
Over a week ago, will post another set.Quote:

Been a bit busy so engine build has been on hold, may crack on with that this afternoon though.
Did the breather mod on the cam cover:
Before(holes been previously drilled, but i decided do it the way sbd say do it)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1118Medium.jpg
After(just the corner of the plate left)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1122Medium.jpg
Also finally got my gsi skirts painted/fitted, used the proper clips, quite easy to fit :)
