Since doing combe i ain't done much to the car untill today. I also did a few mods to myself aswell LOL.
I started to fit my solid engine mounts yesterday but it started to rain so i fitted the old one back in and black man pinched my finger when a socket slipped.

You clean it? :p
wheeeeelz
well i did clean it but that isnt the main thing changed.
As for the wheels it had its track wheels on and they aint road leagual so that dont count.
Total Vauxhall Decals had disapered from bonnet and a W and arrow on the rear tow sign.
i think i will have to send a packet of love hearts to Nath lol
Curley Wirley ftw
Looking good Chris.
you got tow on the bumper now, as you had to before
nath already noticed that and that the stickers were missing from the bonnet.
Chris, are your preferred wheel size 14"?
Car looks good anyhow & appears to go very well in the vids. Nothing squeaking, rattling or falling off, over the norm.
cheers craig.
I was running my 14's as they had a new set of hankooks on them from last year that i never got to use.
Ive been having a few issues with the box keep dropping its oil out if left with the car parked only at certian angles.
Ive traced it back to the drive shaft seal on the passenger side.
So today i head of to skurrys (local vx dealer) and got a new seal.I will hopefully be fitting this tomorrow and then fill the oil up again.
just wondered can this be done by just leavering the old seal (once drive shaft has bean removed) then tap the new on in ?
Any imfo would be good as never changed one.
Yep - simply remove shaft and prise out the seal - tap in the new one and refit shaft - top up gear oil and roadtest
Make sure the seal is not damaged when tapping back in - metal spring in the seal to stay intact and careful not to damage the new seal when putting the shaft back in
Dave
cheers mate.
I thought that was just the case but thought i would check on here first.
Thank you.
When I changed my driveshaft seals for the first time they were a right bi-atch. Second time wasn't easy. Ideally you want a 36-42mm socket to drive it in square (which I never had). I ran a little univeral blue round the edge too ;)
cheers Ash i will make sure to use the big hammer lol.
Got it all done and seams to of done the trick.
first off had to get the old one out and i managed this with a hammer chissel and mole grips.
Once out i cleaned the area where new seal was going to sit then put the new one back in.
Ash mentioned a large socket but as the biggest i had was a 30 i went searching in the garage and found a clamp for holding the coil in on a nova.
I opened it till it was the right size for the seal then rested that against the seal and a bit of wood i found.
All i did then was tap the bit of wood with the hammer and it pushed the new seal home.
Job done.
One jacked up the car.

Once all was fitted i lowed it back down and refilled the gearbox oil.
I couldnt take it for a road test as i left the ecu at home but will go for a little spin later.
Good lad Chris :)
Top job! ECU at home...thats some security lol
I do live in the geto lol.
nice little clip i found for you mate:thumb:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onivMyaVUMs
I see that the other day on the combe web site.
Cheers mate.
Shame about the sound quality tho.
Ive been doing some work over the weekend on the car.
First of it started to have a funny clunk from the drivers side.seeing as i was going pass my mates garage i thought it would pop it in just to make sure that the wheel wasnt about to fall off LOL.
3 hrs later and many tools borrowed i found the problem.
The inner cv boot had decided to spit all its grease out without the boot being split or the clip hadnt come off.
Were the grease had come out the cv was dry making it clunk.
greased it up and it was all sorted.
thanks to
Mike and AndyN/W Garage.
So that was saturday out the way so today i took the car to Dars to help fit the rear diffuser.
after a few hrs it was all fitted but i could only get phone pic's as by the time i got home it was dark and raining.

It goes back to the beam but not over it.
I didn't think we were going to be able to finish it when you arrived with those pieces of tinfoil you wanted me to use as brackets. Thankfully your car hadn't rotted away at the rear like mine, so we could use the rear apron and a different bracketery approach. Worked out well in the end :thumb:
