Good stuff Scott.
Good to see accurate RR results for once too, sounds bang on!
Cheers Gareth, Ad yeah Dave said what you see is what you have, i wont put my name to anything thats not a real reading/figure.
VIDS now added.
Scott
I thought it was quick enough before, whens round 2? :d
spot on mate , sorry if you didnt get my last message , i thought you said you had more livery to go on the shell .
Saturday at combe, I'm just about to start sorting my extinguisher system out, next plans are, alloy rad, new oil cooler set up/pipes etc.
Scott
so your going to keep it now lol
cool, sounding the business - good results indeed.
What map was on it before then?
seems quite good how youve managed to enjoy using the car for a while before getting it mapped properly.. Didnt have to get it done in a costly hurry when engine was first fitted..?
I do, might try to put it on before combe, or after, not sure yet..Quote:

Well plan is, use it as much as i can this year, then maybe sell, as i think the cash is better off in my ISA account lolQuote:

oh i agree a proper mapping session is vital; i guess its a surprise you went so long before getting it mapped yourself..
Yeah but we ALL we have to grow up and stop wasting money at some point! lolQuote:

Aslong as you have enough money for bills & mortage Scott, enjoy the rest.
You have to have a hobby, & to go and shut yourself away in the garage and forget about all the daily sh1t going on around you, you cant beat it.
I know what you mean, but with 3 cars its getting a bit much!
And as for a garage, don't go there lol i DID have one..
Good result there Scott. Look forward to having a poke round this at Coomb on saturday!
good power if its a standard xe on bodies scott, although i'd be worried about reving it to nearly seven and a half
Limmit is set to 7500k BUT not to worry its got ARP rod bolts fitted, and as peak power is aroud 6500-7000k it will be fine as i change at redline on the dash that is about 6500 ish.
aw right, i did kinda think surely its got arp's if he's reving it that much or hes mental in dont give a feklol
scott you wanna go over the peak power, not change at it.
Think about it as a big hill, in order to maintain the highest average altitude you wanna start halfway up the hill climb to the top and then halfway back down, not start at the bottom and climb to the top.
Good results Scott! Sounds sweeeet!
Mark im talking about normalish driving mate, lol on track with a helmet on im sure ill hit the limmiter!
Cheers John, feels great to drive too!Quote:

Out of interest what engine mgmt u on?
MBE And to drive its totaly diffrent, i recomend dave at MEK he can map anything!
OK, good. i'm on MBE too. had a quote from Dave about a year ago but never got round to fitting a lambda boss which he said i'd need. Need to pull my finger out then!
Pff, you don't wanna hit the limiter either! lolQuote:

lol i was meaning as its harder to hear the revs an gauge it when your excited, but was only joking, well the limitter was set before at 7750 but Dave lowered it to 7500 as theres no need to have it any higher etc,
Any way no pics, but ive justt fited some new center section exhaust rubber hangers as they melted on the rollers! lol
And while the back end was in the air i decided to lower my rear coilovers another 20mm, supprisingly they wernt stuck tight and it was easy..
Scott
Nice results Scott, what was it running when I drove it then? Just a standard map?
as scott said, you set the limiter at a safe limit...so it doesn't drop off too much & hopefully saves the engine...Quote:

Nice results too - the power probably isnt that far off what it was tbh (13.4 iirc on the quarter?) but the benfits will probably be teh delivery and torque curve improvements!
Base maps are built to be safe - now its efficient!
;)
I'd disagree tbh, I wouldn't lower the rev limit on an engine unless it was actually likely to rip the crank out the block, at least then if you overrev it a tad it keeps going rather than splatting you on the windscreen.Quote:

don't they teach about adding reliability on your course??
Yep, it's in the lecture with Geoff's sidenote on how to get an engine to rev to 24k without exploding.:)Quote:
