Threaded inserts into CDS tube on the seat mounts?
And yeah Simps, read the thread ffs lol
Nice work
What's up with the grafiti on the quarter panel ? lol
Cage looks very impressive.
Keep up the good work Paul :)
Didnt really do too well with pics tonight, was time consuming work mounting seats & harnesses.
But seats are now ready to be bolted in, as are the harnesses. The repairs on the rear quarters are half way done. So with a bit of luck the inside may be painted in the next fortnight or so, and the outside primed.

Im going to strip a nova in the morning for a screen, matrix, heater blower etc.
Til' next time...
Progress is good, Are you not planning to run a internal shifter?
Copied & pasted;
Im down the garage now, so more progress pics later.
I took a trip over to Raldes earlier bought 2 6 point harnesses, all fixings, new suede steering wheel and a new OMP boss. Got harnesses in and fixing plates welded in, the rest of the seat rails welded in and my mate glen (saab mk2) is currently doing the arch repairs needed. Coming together now
Not on this one, no real advantage IMOQuote:

Cage looks wicked, how come you were selling the wilwoods? how did you rate them? 280mm? I cant find 5 stud setups listed online?
No need for wilwoods on this, im goinf for cheap & cheerful tbh
They were superb tbf stopped the nova from 150ish twice a lap at snett for 10 mins repeatedly with no brake fade.
Cage looks good as does the welding.
Did you look in to them tbs i linked you too?
Good stuff Paul.
as mike said :thumb:Quote:

scott, surly if its still on the nova linkage the it would feel mostly the same no?
Has a more direct feel as you don't have the extra joints in it, that the standard one dose from where its under the car.
PLUS leaves it clear for the exhaust to be made nice and straight is a big bonus i think.
Scott
ah didnt think it any less joints in it. Know its good for clearanace.
Im still thinking about it, but atm standard it is.
I went up to martins (bmw156) today to get a few bits, cheers mate.
Got a screen, matrix, tank straps, few odd ball bolts, handbrake assembly, mirrors etc.
Still need a gte fr bumper & grill.
Good progress mate - makes me want to got back up the unit now!
good to see you again Paul,
a laugh as expected lol.
first time i have ever rolled a nova :D

Nice work Paul.
Internal shifter is one of the most pointless things ive done on mine lol lol
If you RJ the actual linkage, it feels 100% better than standard, even with the nova shifter.
Been up tonight, drilled the holes for the front triangulation, cut the plates out to beef up the shell where it goes through so its water tight etc.
Didnt get any pics, not much to see to be fair!
Then me & maris had a slight incident involving the bus pink paint whilst painting his rocker cover/cambelt cover.
Ill give you a clue, he went home in just his pants and one pink leg, his clothes are on the floor mopping up the rest of the paint.
You stripped him naked and painted him pink?
No they ran out of lube!
Thats the one. We forgot the paint gun, so tried with a parafin gun. Failed, then found the top half of a spray gun with no pot. There were a few screw etc missing out of it, so a few bits of tape/bodgery later he tried to hold the spray gun top into the parafin pot, needless to say the whole pot went over him, and the garage floor. He the brushed it off of the floor onto the covers as not to waste it. 5mins later he rubbed it all off with thinners lol
Nice work so far Paul, cage looks awesome too! :)
Nick.
Nick, have you ever sprayed hammerite before?
